Improving links between supply chain and sustainability

Improving links between supply chain and sustainability | Impactful | Scoop.it

In new research, 71% of supply chain professionals indicated sustainability staff had a good understanding of supply chain goals, but only 42% thought their supply chain peers understood sustainability goals. This is partly due to lack of common goals and governance; for example, supply chain often relies on auditing to ensure compliance, while sustainability improvement is best achieved through supplier engagement and development. The report recommends supply chain executives integrating sustainability into their operations should focus on metrics definition and alignment, focus on capacity building, and actively network with other thought leaders.
