I agree with this article. Leaflet distribution is still effective however this is depending on your research into your target audience and the consumers who suit your target market. Narrowing down on potential customers also means that you save on discarded leaflets.

I agree, leaflet distribution can be effective, if it is reaching the selected target market. It is important to target this audience as it can defiantly save in printing costs. Personally for me, I don't really look at leaflets, unless there is something on there that stand out to me.

Its very true that a company needs to target who they send their mail to, otherwise, like the previous article, people will just throw it out, it will also save the company a lot of money and also be better for the enviroment by eliminating wastage!

The insight was good, you showed a clear understanding of what you read in the article, the 10 steps are interesting, and some of them I haven’t heard of it before but some of them I did. This is good because you learn something new every day. I think most strategic social media plan include define goals, determine tactics and choose the right channel and strategy that suits the company’s goals then the rest of the steps are determined by different company due to their needs and skills available. Also as you mentioned I agree that all companies need to do careful research about which social media you should pick and which one are suitable for you. This is because I know social media can do a lot of things and it covers a big range of activities picking a social media that collect ideas won’t help you to create sales.

Your insight is good and I can see your understanding of this article through your comment. This article clearly list 10 steps of how to developing a strategic social media plan for business. The article discussed the process in detail and your insight really helps me to understand it. These 10 steps are closely connected with each other, with each of them focusing on a specific field, and these steps should be continuous carried out. From my point of view, the most important step is the last one, measure and refine, and it is also the step that most likely be forgotten by business owners. After all those effort made before, it is important to see how it works. Your strategies cannot be perfect once you set down, and it need to be adjusted with the time goes by, because it seems like no way for a “one -fits-all” strategy that always suitable in all different conditions. Measuring and analysing the result therefore you can make some further development in the future.

I really enjoyed this article due to the simplicity of the inforgraphic showcasing the information in a colourful and engaging way. As there are several types of social media such as facebook, twitter and tumblr (blogs) having media stratergy for each one is important. All of them have different communiction features and different target audiences. Kamal has chosen well and agreeing with emma that this really links well with the week 7 lecture topic.

This is a good article as it uses infographics which makes it easier to understand and take in the idea of developing and implementing a media strategy and in this case for social media. The first 4 steps are the basics to developing a strategy and then it expands on it with not great detail but just the quick basic information one needs to know. Although one thing it doesn't mention though is analyzing a market or finding a target market which I beleive helps within the process of developing a strategy, knowing what potential customers to target or what market or segment.
