Video book trailer examples

Video book trailer examples | iLearn with iPads | Scoop.it

In a small group, (3 is best!) choose a favourite book that you’ve already read. Brainstorm together how you could get readers interested in the book without giving it all away. Don’t try and summarize the story, just a few visual & fun ideas that will be intriguing or eye catching. Think of a movie trailer or a book blurb and how they can draw you into the story without giving away any spoilers! Make sure at some point you show the cover of the book and say the title –even if it’s for only 1-2 seconds.

What is digital fluency?

What is digital fluency? | iLearn with iPads | Scoop.it
Crucially, the outcome of being digitally fluent relates to issues of responsibility, equity and access. We all have the right to fully participate in a digitally-enabled education system and in an increasingly digitised society. If we work with fluency in the way we use technologies, we are able to keep ourselves safe online and take full advantage of life chance opportunities such as being able to apply for work, manage our finances, or be part of our local community

Teaching students to create their own learning is every bit as important as teaching subject knowledge, arguably, more so.
Marta Botella's curator insight, November 9, 2015 6:52 AM

50 Resources For Teaching With iPads - Te@chThought | iLearn with iPads | Scoop.it
So we thought we’d start an ongoing collection–that is, one that is updated to reflect trends and changes–of the best resources for teaching with the iPad.

This will include resources from all of the best sources, from Apple’s own stuff to TeachThought to edutopia to MindShift to DMLCentral to Jackie Gerstein and more. We can update it, or make it a wiki to crowdsource the process, or you can add suggestions in the comments below. Based on the activity of the comments, and the sharing of the post, we’ll decide how to handle it moving forward.

Six Top Sources for Free Images, Video, and Audio | Cool Tools - SLJ @rmbyrne | iLearn with iPads | Scoop.it
I’ve written about a number of video, audio, and collage creation tools, with WeVideo, Audacity, and PicMonkey topping some of my lists. However, it can be a challenge for students to locate copyright-friendly media when using these tools for presentations or idea sharing. It’s always best for students to create materials or use ones that are in the public domain. Here are some of the best resources I’ve found for the latter.

Audio Podcasting with iOS and YouTube - Moving at the Speed of Creativity

Audio Podcasting with iOS and YouTube - Moving at the Speed of Creativity | iLearn with iPads | Scoop.it

 - Moving at the Speed of Creativity"In my continuing quest to find streamlined ways to audio record and share conference presentations at professional development events, today I used the free iOS app Voice Recorder Pro to record my three sessions at the Oklahoma EdTechTeam’s Google Summit, as well as Jake Heister’s session (with permission, of course) on Google Search. Normally I would publish audio recordings like this to my “Fuel for Educational Change Agents” secondary podcast channel, and I may still do that, but for now this workflow worked very smoothly and was MUCH less time consuming. It took 38 minutes from start to finish to publish these 4 audio recordings to YouTube, using my iPhone. The workflow I used was:

1. Audio record with the iOS app Voice Record Pro (free).
2. In the app, rename the file with the name of the presentation and add a photo to the file.
3. Save the audio recording as a video to your camera roll, first selecting the desired “template” for your accompanying image.
4. Upload the video to YouTube with the free iOS app, “YouTube Capture.”

Using Stop-motion Animation with Green Screen on the iPad - May 2014 Blog Post

Using Stop-motion Animation with Green Screen on the iPad - May 2014 Blog Post | iLearn with iPads | Scoop.it

Recently I have been combining two of my favourite apps, I Can Animate and DoInk Green Screen. We have been recording stop motion animation using I Can Animate with small characters and animals onto a green background and then importing these videos into DoInk where they were combined with an image. The green can be removed and the image is they used as a background.

Adding a background to the stop motion creates more focus to this type of work, not only with pupils learning the iPad skills but also linking stop-motion animation with other subjects such as topics on Romans, Wildlife etc. Along with using stop motion animation in Science (see this earlier blog http://sco.lt/8Yh77B) we are finding more and more ways to use it throughout the curriculum.

ISTE - 6 elements of a successful iPad implementation

ISTE - 6 elements of a successful iPad implementation | iLearn with iPads | Scoop.it

 - As more districts across the United States move to 1:1 initiatives, a common barrier is financial resources, and a common temptation is to regard these initiatives as technology enterprises rather than instructional transformations. In a three-year pilot project, the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) addressed these challenges by implementing a creative approach designed to entice public funders by providing all students with equitable access to digital devices.
