Interactive Visual Featuring 6 Tasks You Can Easily Do Using iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Interactive Visual Featuring 6 Tasks You Can Easily Do Using iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | IKT och iPad i undervisningen | Scoop.it

"This is an interactive image (created using Thinglink) that features a bunch of useful iPad apps that you can use to do tasks you would traditionally do using a pen and paper. I really liked the idea of providing alternatives to do things digitally. For instance, instead of taking notes in a notebook or on paper you can use Evernote or any other note taking app to do it on iPad. The good thing about doing things digitally is that you have the added advantage of accessing, editing, and sharing your work across different devices and platforms and also saving it on the cloud to access it anytime anywhere you go.

As is the case with all the interactive Thinglink images I shared here in the past, the app icons shared here are hyperlinked, just hover your mouse over any of them to access it on the iTunes app store.'

Thinglink Edu - Your Students Can Use Thinglink Without Email Addresses, Here's How | IKT och iPad i undervisningen | Scoop.it

Thinglink was a big hit in the workshop that I facilitated yesterday in Bettendorf, Iowa. Thinglink can be used to turn any static image into an interactive, multimedia image. Yesterday, we used PicMonkey and PicCollage to create collages about what a good learning environment looks like to us. After creating those collages we saved them as PNG files and uploaded them to Thinglink where we added videos, audio files, and links to articles to enhance our collages and make them interactive.

Green Screen iPad review | iPad Insight | IKT och iPad i undervisningen | Scoop.it

"As a young wannabe film maker (or nerd as it’s more commonly referred to) in the early 90s, I used to love grabbing the family camcorder and knocking up some quality Hollywood remakes. My greatest hits included remakes of Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters and the criminally underrated original production “That Army Bloke II”. I’m still waiting for an offer for the screenplay for that one. Me and my sister had to be pretty creative with our movies as special effects were limited to fade to white and macro. Nowadays with the iPad, the world is your digital celluloid oyster and Do Ink’s excellent Green Screen app is a fantastic addition to the amateur film maker’s armoury. "

4 Free Apps That Teach the Basics of Coding - We Are Teachers

4 Free Apps That Teach the Basics of Coding - We Are Teachers | IKT och iPad i undervisningen | Scoop.it

"If your class is like mine, the kids are always talking about playing video games! Rather than discouraging that interest, I want to harness it to encourage a higher level of thinking in my class. That is exactly what happens when kids explore coding. I love watching their faces as they try to process that people have to "tell" technology what to do in order for a game to work.

For many kids, the thought of creating games is even more exciting than playing them. Supporting their interest in gaming is important because the process of coding promotes problem-solving, creativity, collaboration and communication skills. Below I have listed four apps that are great places to start learning about coding with young kids. '

Învaţă să programezi!

Ryan McDonough's curator insight, July 7, 1:23 PM

Games don't grow on trees. They have to be created by a human droid that writes thousands and thousands lines of code. Ask your class,"If you want to make video games when you grow up, raise your hand "? I'd bet as you glance around the room, most of your students' hands would be up. Coding is the source that makes it all possible. Introducing coding concepts at an early age also makes it easier to learn-- much like learning a foreign language as a kid is easier than learning as an adult. These apps are free and can provide a platform to at least introduce the beginning concepts of gaming. What should the character be doing, how do I end the story, who saves the princess, etc. One I've used in my classroom is Daisy the Dinosaur.
