A List of The Best Free Digital Storytelling Tools for Teachers | Languages, ICT, education | Scoop.it

Digital storytelling, the practice of combining narrative with digital content, is gaining more ground in the educational field. Many schools and educational centres all around the globe  are including learning method  in their curriculums and the results are really  promising : more of students engagement and a bigger degree of motivation.

And when this storytelling is combined with a set of powerful digital tools it becomes a truly authentic  learning experience that helps students develop a wide range of intellectual skills.

Nik Peachey: Criteria for evaluating web based tools

Nik Peachey: Criteria for evaluating web based tools | Languages, ICT, education | Scoop.it

"So far I have come up with a number of 'first impression' criteria that I think I apply before even thinking about 'how' I will use an app / tool.
I hope you find these criteria useful as a starting point for your own reflections on why you choose to use certain apps and not others.
Please feel free to browse the list and add any 'pros' and 'cons' or anything you think I've missed."

Nik Peachey's curator insight, May 4, 3:15 PM

Have to say I agree with a lot of this, especially this part about PLNs "Social learning through PLNs has become a tour de force and it’s not run by any one company. It’s not something to be monetized and refined. It’s rough, all over the place, and always changing. That’s why it’s so great. PLNs, to me, are the future of online professional development."
