What are the top ten skills that are needed in the workplace today? The University of Phoenix has published this infographic that provides a look at the top ten skills as well as information on how to acquire the skills. Are you providing your students the opportunity to learn and/or practice these skills?

Audrey's curator insight, November 29, 2013 2:26 PM

These skills make a lot of sense and all tend to be included in education, right now. In addition to learning the standard topics, most educational establishments incude socio-cultural, moral and practical lessons for students to be able to cope with life in the 21st century.

I have found that storyboarding integrates seamlessly between Persona development and UI design as a perfect way to visualize the happy paths of already identified Use Cases... This can be an enormous value add for stakeholders. @OneSpring #Visualization #InnovateorDie

Great question! I thought of the term as I was reading the above article this morning and did a quick Google search and did not find any relevant uses of the word. Although, I am thinking the term Creatorium might work better and sound better. The basic meaning behind the word is similar to the terms imaginarium or exploratorium. With a twist instead of only inspiring imagination and exploration let enable creation of ideas, tools, and products digital and physical. The library could become a community hub or nexus for innovators, educators, and inventors taking data, information, and knowledge then using tools provided by the library to create or turn their ideas into books, videos, and now with 3D printers create models and working products.
Margaret Driscoll, Learning Organization Librarian's curator insight, February 15, 2013 11:15 AM

Another way to reduce student costs -- use the library!
