How to record your iPad screen using QuickTime Player on your Mac | iPad Insight

How to record your iPad screen using QuickTime Player on your Mac | iPad Insight | idevices for special needs | Scoop.it
While I was surfing around the internet the other day, I came across a procedure that allows you to record the screen of your iOS device using QuickTime Player on your Mac.  As someone who could really benefit from this feature for demonstrative purposes, my curiosity was definitely peaked.  Add to that the fact that it is built into every Mac running Yosemite and that it’s completely free, and I knew that some of you, too, would really appreciate knowing how it works.  Here’s a quick tutorial based upon Aaron Douglas’ Blog post on The Dangling Pointer.

The article does not mention that this only works with iOS devices that use Lightning cables i.e. iPad Mini or newer, iPad 4th Gen or newer, iPhone 5 or newer. The cable must be plugged into the Mac for this to work.

mrsjgarcia's curator insight, April 9, 11:37 AM

This is cool, it would mean we could finally screencast and ipad using vid instead of pics, without using an external camera to do so.

""The iPhone Camera app includes a self timer function, a great feature for any camera that allows you to set a countdown timer before a picture is snapped. There’s many uses for the timer function, but it often allows for the photographer or camera owner to be in the picture frame as well, rather than just shooting pictures from behind the lens."

10 Best Wearable Tracking Devices To Keep Kids Safe

10 Best Wearable Tracking Devices To Keep Kids Safe | idevices for special needs | Scoop.it
All parents want to keep their children safe. But the debates between

never let their child take the subway alone. But when it comes to
crowded events, theme parks, or giving our children the independence to

Adobe Slate - Yet Another Way to Create a Photo Story - iPad Apps for School

Adobe Slate is designed to help you create a visual story from the pictures on your iPad, from the web, from an Adobe online account, or from a Dropbox account. You start your story by importing a cover picture and writing story title. You then add pictures one-by-one and write captions for each. You can also write headlines for each image. One convenient feature of Adobe Slate is that the integrated image search tool will import Creative Commons attributions with the images you select. Adobe Slate has a dozen or so filters or themes that you can apply to your story. Completed stories can be published online through a variety of channels including Adobe’s platform, Facebook, Twitter, or embedding into a blog post.
