Hope just this once won't hurt... This app can only be used on iProducts and won't do on any others -that's mainly why I usually avoid branding such resources. Some of these are real gems though and my soft spot for Shakespeare has got me to share this one with you ;o)

Comment valider l'information à l'heure des réseaux et d'Internet ? Support de cours pour lycéens dans le cadre de la semaine de la presse 2013

A l'ère du numérique et du virtuel, une éducation aux media est indispensable, et la validation de l'information en est part essentielle.

L'on peut attirer l'attention des élèves/étudiants tout particulièrement sur la diapo n° 9 : "RETWITTER, C'EST RECOMMANDER [...]" : véhiculer  une'information c'est en quelque sorte la déclarer valide en son nom propre et engager sa "CREDIBILITE". La présentation illustre clairement les dommages collatéraux d'une information erronée, mais transmise sans validation : le 'bon' vieux rouage de la rumeur -sans fondement...

Et ce, quelle que soit le medium de l'information (Fbook, Pinterest, Scoop.it...)  -à souligner aux élèves/étudiants.

Bref, un diaporama bien construit et efficace sur le fond, mais aussi sur la forme  :-)

Had been wilfing on the web for a while to search for resources around the music industry and its giants and stumbled on this : a pleasant -and well-known- tune.. that had me shiver. Mark Read's got a nice voice  -by the way, how can it be his ?!! His imitation's of Elton John has got so close...

The song sounds thrilling -witty lyrics filled with emotion, irony... and possible ESL plans topics !

To me the song makes a smart example to illustrate a lesson plan on parody, along with other literary figures. Might also be considered an interesting resource to work on the digital age possible cons or casualties -food for thought to help our students' debate for or against an "all digital world".

Part of the English-speaking world civilisation, the British "Voix de son Maître" [didn't know HMV was its primary name !] illustrates the evolution of music industry / unemployment in the UK / ...

Well done, Mr Piano Man, you made my day :-)

Hi Monica. I loved this find. Its a great song, and like you said, it will be great for a lesson on parodies. Wonder if we will be able to get the words- useful for ESL learners.

Harrison also tells about his dictionary project : the starting point is...  any language of the world ! These online dictionaries started about a decade ago.

"On parle beaucoup de la question du plagiat en milieu scolaire et universitaire, mais le droit d’auteur a bien d’autres impacts sur la sphère éducative. Enseigner et étudier [...] vous ne pourrez utiliser que des oeuvres éditées sur support papier, sauf pour les images, qui peuvent être nativement numériques. Que pour chaque oeuvre utilisée, professeurs et élèves sont censés vérifier si les titulaires de droits concernés sont bien membres des sociétés de gestion collective signataires des accords. Cela vaut pour un livre en entier, mais aussi pour chaque image, photo, illustration figurant dans ce livre, qui nécessiteront des vérifications à la pièce (!). Qu’on ne peut utiliser que des extraits d’oeuvres, sachant que cela correspond à 5 pages consécutives pour les livres, mais seulement 4 pages pour le cas particulier des manuels (!). Que ceci ne vaut qu’à la condition que ces 4 ou 5 pages ne représentent pas plus de 5% de l’oeuvre dont ils sont extraits et pas plus de 20% du support pédagogique dans lequel ils sont incorporés (vous suivez toujours ?). [...]"
