Flipped Classrooms Are A Gateway Drug To Intentional Pedagogy | FunnyMonkey

Flipped Classrooms Are A Gateway Drug To Intentional Pedagogy | FunnyMonkey | Ict4champions | Scoop.it

At the outset of this post, I feel the need to freely admit a bias against the term "flipped classroom." The term feels like an attempt to re-invent something that was already there, as many teachers had been inverting the typical class structure for decades under various names: project based learning, student-centered learning, student-paced learning, or just good teaching.

Tech Tools: Have You Tried? (6: Padlet) | Ict4champions | Scoop.it
Padlet is a collaborative pinboard / brainstorming platform. It works across platforms and has quite a robust free version. Padlet can be set up for secure sharing, and can handle many different file types. Students can reorganise ideas, and can link their thoughts with connector lines. Think of it as collaborative, interactive, less annoying version…

10 highlights capture the big picture themes of educational change that underpin the 18 topics:

1 Advancing progressive learning approaches requires cultural transformation.
2 Real-world skills are needed to bolster employability and workplace development.
3 Collaboration is key for scaling effective solutions.
4 Despite the proliferation of technology and online learning materials, access is still unequal.
5 Processes for assessing nuanced skills at a personal level are needed
6 Fluency in the digital realm is more than just understanding how to use technology.
7 Online, mobile, and blended learning are foregone conclusions.
8 Learning ecosystems must be agile enough to support the practices of the future.
9 Higher education is an incubator for developing more intuitive computers.
10 Lifelong learning is the lifeblood of higher education

Pretty nice tools to take into account in our classes! They will help us with the management of the class; besides, it will promote collaborative learning through the development of critical thinking and will enhance participation. One of the best things of technology is that it will help learners to come up with some learning strategies; on the other hand, the use of ICT's in the class create awareness of the positive effects of technology once it is used wisely.
