The 12 Best iPad Apps For The World Language Classroom - Edudemic

The 12 Best iPad Apps For The World Language Classroom - Edudemic | ICT & Social Media in Education | Scoop.it

"The iPad has fundamentally changed how and what I teach in my Spanish classes. First of all, I no longer use textbooks. Ever. Why would I when everything I need and more is available online or through an app? As educators, we are often told to teach students “21st century skills”, but let’s be honest, more often than not; it is the teachers who need to become more proficient in how to reach young people through technology."

"In their attempts to establish a 1:1 program for the year 6 class, St Oliver Plunket has recently held a series of workshops in order to develop their students skills before they were officially given management of their very own devices.

The workshops were particularly centered around teaching students about some tips and tricks for managing their iPad, email etiquette, successful searching and copyright and creative commons. I personally was thrilled by the efforts these people from St Oliver are putting into making their 1:1 program a success and I hope other schools would do the same."

Gamify your classrooms with Kahoot. | ipadders.eu

Gamify your classrooms with Kahoot. | ipadders.eu | ICT & Social Media in Education | Scoop.it

"This week I’ve been getting excited about using Kahoot in the classroom. Kahoot delivers online quizzes and surveys to your students.

It works very similar to the more well-known Socrative. The teacher displays the question and the answers on the beamer or tv in the front of the classroom. The students see the corresponding icon and color on their screen. They have 30 seconds to answer on their devices and get points for every question they answer right. The quicker they answer the more points they receive. After each question the top 5 students are shown on the board with their scores. This is where it gets exciting. The students love this immediate feedback and want to get to the top position. I have never seen students so focused on answering the questions correctly."

A World of Project Ideas (You Can Steal) - Edutopia

A World of Project Ideas (You Can Steal) - Edutopia | ICT & Social Media in Education | Scoop.it

"One of the advantages of project-based learning is the flexibility. PBL is an effective instructional strategy within individual content areas as well as across disciplines. It's engaging for young learners and teens alike. Good projects can be short term and tightly focused, or expansive enough to require months of inquiry. The sky's the limit -- which can be a challenge for teachers designing their first projects.

Fortunately, you don't have to start from scratch. By borrowing good project ideas from other teachers, and adapting them to fit your context, you can get off to a faster start."

10 Powerful iPad Apps For English And History - Edudemic | ICT & Social Media in Education | Scoop.it

"When I first started teaching English with 1:1 iPads, I was really jealous of the science and fine arts teachers. They had all of the most engaging apps, and I was left with a lowly word processor and an instant thesaurus.

Fortunately, so much has changed. I now have the flexibility to duck in and out of my students’ papers as they write and leave them comments on drafts in progress. I have the resources to connect them with a real-world network of readers who authentically guide them to books they will enjoy through reviews and ratings. "

Dafnord 's curator insight, May 16, 2:24 AM

Nearpod on ruvennut tarjoamaan opetuspaketteja digitaaliseen oppimiseen.Paketit on sovitettu USA:n Common Core -opetussuunnitelmaan.
