20 Great iPad Apps for Teachers - EdTech & mLearning

20 Great iPad Apps for Teachers - EdTech & mLearning | ICT Nieuws | Scoop.it
Besides the multitude of resources we have covering reviews of hundreds of educational apps, from time to time we create lists featuring our favourite picks from the piles. Our purpose is to provide teachers with tested educational iPad apps that they can try out in their instruction. The last thing to ask an overburdened teacher is to spend hours in iTunes apps store searching  for apps to use with students. We do the curation job for you and it is your turn to integrate and make the best of these resources in your teaching. That being said, here is a handy visual we created a few months ago featuring some of the best educational iPad apps to consider in your teaching. We know our selection is subjective and many other wonderful apps are missing but for practical reasons we only included a limited number of 20 apps. More educational apps are to be featured in future collections

SAMR and Bloom's Taxonomy: Assembling the Puzzle

SAMR and Bloom's Taxonomy: Assembling the Puzzle | ICT Nieuws | Scoop.it

Far more complex couplings between SAMR and Bloom are possible, involving convergent/divergent branchings, oscillations between levels, skipping of some SAMR levels, etc. Nonetheless, the simple structure described above is well suited to beginning practitioners’ needs, and even retains usefulness for more experienced faculty.

How to Scan QR Codes on iPhone with Chrome - OSXDaily

How to Scan QR Codes on iPhone with Chrome - OSXDaily | ICT Nieuws | Scoop.it
QR Codes are the weird looking pixelated squares you sometimes see printed on signs or elsewhere, and while it’s a stretch to say they are widely used (or understood) they are ubiquitous in some areas. While the iPhone does not bundle a method of scanning QR codes by default, if you’re a Google Chrome user then you will find the latest versions of the iPhone Chrome app can scan QR codes for you.

There are a few ways to access the QR code scanning ability of Chrome in iOS. Perhaps the easiest is using Spotlight, but there’s a 3D Touch trick available too.

Battle of the Classrooms: Apple, Google, Microsoft Vie for K 12 Market | ICT Nieuws | Scoop.it
It’s terribly confusing, but perhaps no coincidence, that three of the world’s most prominent consumer technology companies—Apple, Google, Microsoft—each boast a “Classroom” tool aimed at K-12 educators and students. After all, what better way to secure a foothold in the market than impressing one’s brand to future consumers at a young age?

Selecting an App for Your Classroom without Losing Your Mind

Selecting an App for Your Classroom without Losing Your Mind | ICT Nieuws | Scoop.it
This week’s geeky goodness is about to get started right here, right now with some info regarding the selection of apps for use in the classroom.

With a myriad of tools available to teachers, it’s sometimes mind-boggling trying to identify which are the most effective. Let’s face it… Flashy, colorful, unique apps will most definitely capture the attention of your students, but is this the way we want them to experience learning? Probably not so much.

That said, I have developed a three-step process to assist the teachers in my district with locating and then selecting the apps that will be the most effective tools for the classroom.
