This is a creative way to present. The visuals have to enhance the presentation.

Gianfranco Marini's curator insight, December 21, 2014 4:11 AM

# 20 slides mostrate per 20 secondi ciascuna per un totale di 6 minuti e 40 secondi;

# le immagini avanzano automaticament;

# le PKN o PechaKucha Nights sono incontri creativi in cui si condividono idee, lavori, pensieri utilizzando presentazioni in stile PechaKucha

15+ Ways of Teaching Every Student to Code (Even Without a Computer) - Edutopia

15+ Ways of Teaching Every Student to Code (Even Without a Computer) - Edutopia | ICT Nieuws | Scoop.it

"According to Code.org, 90 percent of U.S. schools are not teaching any computer science. Eyebrows have been raised this year as the U.K. passed a plan to educate every child how to code.

In my opinion, parents of every student in every school at every level should demand that all students be taught how to code. They don't need this skill because they'll all go into it as a career -- that isn't realistic -- but because it impacts every career in the 21st century world. Any country recognizing that will benefit in the long term. Here's how you can start."

Coding in the Classroom: Here to Stay - Getting Smart

Coding in the Classroom: Here to Stay - Getting Smart | ICT Nieuws | Scoop.it
The value of computer programming has been rising exponentially for decades. To the point where now coding has gained traction in mainstream media. TV shows like CBS’s The Big Bang Theory or HBO’s Silicon Valley are good indicators of computer science careers are taking center stage. The domino effect created by the demand for amazing technology is likewise leading to a demand for skilled workers to engineer and program. Whether training comes through a high school certificate program, or a degree in computer science, the need for project-ready coders is only increasing. The bottom-line: All schools at all levels are kicking coding into overdrive.

A Harvard physics professor says schoolchildren must be allowed to access the internet and talk to friends in the exams hall to reflect the conditions seen in the workplace

Carlos Fosca's curator insight, December 8, 2014 7:42 AM

Coding for Kindergarteners - Edutopia

Coding for Kindergarteners - Edutopia | ICT Nieuws | Scoop.it
Last year at this time, I was trying not to think about kindergarteners. I was still teaching ninth grade English and had just accepted a job teaching technology to K-5. I was excited about the challenge, and I knew that I'd bitten off more than I could chew.

Developing the tech curriculum challenged me to teach programming or at least computational thinking at each elementary grade level. Our school is mid-pivot in technology -- we're in our second year of a middle school 1:2 iPad program, our first year of having a cart of iPads available for elementary, and our last year of two PC labs for the students to use (next year we'll have only one lab). Knowing this, I wanted to design a program that mostly used tablet-based tools.
