Theophilus's curator insight, March 19, 1:03 AM

What I like about this idea is the centrality of learning as opposed to the centrality of the device. We've discovered that sharing a device have far-reaching and positive possibilities for networking, interaction, teamwork and collaboration in the formal learning environment. OLPC is an example of a notion that goes the other way - individualism, not to mention, the complexities when trying to enable young learners to focus.

Education 3.0 and the Pedagogy (Andragogy, Heutagogy) of Mobile Learning

Education 3.0 and the Pedagogy (Andragogy, Heutagogy) of Mobile Learning | iCt, iPads en hoe word ik een ie-leraar? | Scoop.it

Many educators are doing Education 1.0; talking about doing Education 2.0; when they should be planning and implementing Education 3.0. This post compares the developments of the Internet-Web to those of education. The Internet has become an integral thread of the tapestries of most societies throughout the globe. The web influences people’s way of thinking, doing and being; and people influence the development and content of the web.

Greatest expenses for the State: Medical and Education.

That's why anything in these domains that helps explain how the Internet is going to make those enormous savings in the next years (e.g. through "self-medication" diagnosing oneself with the help of online medical expert systems https://www.google.ch/search?q=+medical+expert+systems&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=sb&gfe_rd=cr&ei=K9dQU9W5EO7W8gfd7ICACg or through "self-education" just in the knowledge you need through systems like this here over) is to take in the newest or modern history curriculum.

Creating An iPad Workflow For Teachers, Students, And Parents - TeachThought

Creating An iPad Workflow For Teachers, Students, And Parents - TeachThought | iCt, iPads en hoe word ik een ie-leraar? | Scoop.it

"Using tablets in the classroom–whether iPads, Androids, or surging Windows devices–is largely a matter of workflow.

If you can forgive a mixed metaphor, the traditional classroom sees the teacher as the both the director and the bottleneck of all productivity. They create assignments, assess proficiency, respond to assessment data, and refine planned instruction in light of constantly changing circumstances.

This is challenging in any context, but in 1:1 and mobile learning environments, it’s even more complex. With tablets, every student has both an information portal and a digital printing press. This means they can reach both communities and potential collaborators.

The above graphic from @ipadwells addresses this issue with a helpful graphic that visualizes a workflow, while offering up representative apps for each step of the process."

Great Prezi on making great Prezis

Dave Wood's curator insight, April 18, 12:41 PM

Some really useful tips about structuring information and the impactful use of visuals.  I haven't been a huge fan of Prezi because they can be just too "busy" and disorientating when they incorporate too much spin as they move from image to image. These tips give good advice about how to keep it simple for best effect.

I've used Prezi as a way of presenting the notes from a visual group coaching session back to the participants.

Vaikuttaa lupaavalta vuorovaikutteiselta työkalulta yhteistoiminnalliseen oppimiseen.

Thoreauback's curator insight, April 9, 10:14 AM

WOW! I use freewrites in my face-to-face class because I don't believe a person can write without thinking. Yet, the document students are writing about is always distinct from the free write. In LMS discussion boards the situation is the same.

Do you remember how annotations use to appear in the margins of really good books? This is the same. The two-pane interface puts the document right in front of the student and lets them attach their comments to specific paragraphs, pictures or videos.  How perfect is that?

I want to try this for a quarter.

Mary Clark's curator insight, April 11, 11:02 AM

While much of this can be done in Google docs, there are several features which can extend the conversation.  Teachers do need to share documents via email.
