Heiko Idensen reports in his curated newsradar "Online Curating & Social Learning Tools and Applications": "Learnist is a new pinboard where users can organize their learning materials. It resembles Pinterest except that Learnist is just for sharing learning resources.
The website is still in beta but looks really very promising for both teachers and students.

Gisteren was ik bij de de jaarlijkse conferentie over 'Wat werkt met ict in het onderwijs'. Een meer dan overvol programma, vol met (onder andere) pitches over onderzoeken naar de toegevoegde waarde van ICT.
"The most interesting debate in education technology today is not about tablets vs. laptops or school-supplied tablets vs. bring-your-own-device scenarios. The choice is really between two metaphors and two visions of education—the factory vs. the creative agency. My hunch is that teachers and school leaders would almost universally agree that we hope our students are prepared to work in creative agencies rather than on assembly lines. Educators need to decide whether their technology investments are intended to speed up an old model of education or to fashion a new one." "Today, high school students in the United States have dropped to below average in math and science as measured by the international Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) tests. We hear of many innovative solutions to combat this problem, like one iPad per child, smart boards in classrooms, and the use of video games to teach. Met het programma Socrative kunt u leerlingen extra betrekken bij de les door ze op stellingen en vragen te laten reageren via hun smartphone, tablet, laptop of welke device dan ook.
De website www.socrative.com is een online stemkastjes-tool. Het biedt docenten de mogelijkheid om de kennis van leerlingen te toetsen. Het voordeel ten opzichte van ‘gewone’ stemkastjes is dat het gratis is en je geen speciale software nodig hebt. Natuurlijk moet je wel voldoende leerlingen met een device met internet hebben."

"Er wordt binnen het onderwijs en binnen opleidingen, cursussen en trainingen, weinig onderzoek gedaan naar de effecten van technologie. Als wel onderzoek wordt gedaan, dan blijkt dat het gebruik van technologie vaak andere effecten heeft dan verwacht. Daarom is het m.i. belangrijk om een brede scope aan verwachtingen te formuleren. Zoals nu bijvoorbeeld het geval is met de iPad."
"Niet de iPad zorgt voor het revitaliseren van het onderwijs, maar het centraal zetten van de eigenheid en persoonlijkheid van leerlingen. Een school moet de natuurlijke nieuwsgierigheid en ontwikkeling faciliteren door dialoog centraal te stellen, door het schoolgebouw te verlaten, door te leren met en van ouderen en door op zoek te gaan naar de eigen vragen en betrokkenheid bij de wereld. "Ze beschrijft haar lessen (zowel digitaal ondersteunde lessen als niet digitaal ondersteunde lessen) uitvoerig online. Met goede tips en trucs over hoe het wel en niet toe te passen, welke materialen te gebruiken en hoe de les ‘ontvangen’ is door de klas waarin ze hem heeft uitgevoerd. Femke is ook niet bang om zichzelf (en haar vriendin) op te nemen op video om zaken uit te leggen. Vindingrijk, maar wel gericht op toepasbaarheid, een realistische dromer sort of speak die door te doen laat zien dat het kan (herkenbaar !!!)" Ze begint nu aan haar LIO, de eindstage op de PABO, maar een beetje zichzelf respecterende onderwijsinstelling zou haar nu al een aanbod moeten doen. Tenminste als die organisatie de weg naar de toekomst op wil gaan… (herkenbaar !?)"
