"In this six-part series, I will highlight apps useful for developing higher order thinking skills in grades K-5 classrooms. Each list will highlight a few apps that connect to the various stages on Bloom's continuum of learning. Given the size and current exponential growth of the app market, I will also assist educators in setting criteria necessary to identify apps that maintain the integrity of teaching for thinking."
Nieuwsgierig geworden? "This is a nice little tool. Simply whack in the URL of the page that you're interested in, and it will come back with a list of other pages out there which share a substantial amount of similar content. You can then highlight the offending page, see what it's copied and then go direct to the page to double check. I don't think it's quite as good as Copyscape, but it's worth looking at."

"It’s only been a few months, but I’ve already noticed some drastic changes in our classroom when the iPads roll in…. I’ve labeled these Top-10 phenomena as being The iPad Effect, as they seem to occur every Tuesday and Thursday…."
"There is no end to the uses of the iPad in education. I’ve discussed that ad nauseum on this blog. As a learning tool, it has the potential to make a great positive change to learning. The only problem is Apple designed it for individual use. Schools are designed for ( or budgeted for) shared use. Conventional wisdom is for iPad use to occur in a 1:1 or BYOD Environment. In the best case scenario, I wholeheartedly agree. Unfortunately, financial realities will often dictate that sharing is the only viable option if we want our students to enjoy the benefits of the iPad. It can be done effectively – I’ve shared my thoughts early in the year about the pros and cons of shared iPads – but doesn’t happen without some time consuming workarounds. What follows is my take on the pains (and remedies) of sharing iPads in a rather large Primary (elementary) school."

"Securing those expensive iPads should be one of the biggest things being discussed on sites like Edudemic every day. But it’s not. Lucky for us, the folks at Intellerum offered us some important insight into the world of iPad, Netbook, and other device security. Long story short, there’s a lot you probably don’t know about."
