Interesting. The last few years have seen more La Nina events - general cooling in the Pacific. For this to occur the water top water needed to go somewhere. Seems it went down and the cold came up. The heat from the atmosphere that went into the surface was pulled to the deeper ocean. The atmoshere then lost more heat than usual to the cooler surface waters. Hence less heating the last couple years than predicted. If we get less ocean mixing the next couple of years expect the rate of atmospheric warming to increase.

A great article on the true aspects of brining back an extinct species. He discusses the relaity of re-introducing some species and how it is hard to see how it would work because the environments that the extinct animals once roamed have drastically changed. Or the predatory nature might be just endanger humans. He also discusses the challenges of not having an existing uterus and needing a surrogate. All cool stuff.
