Yahoo has 196.6 million unique visitors each month. Yet Yahoo generated zero new revenue in 2013. My opinion: Yahoo CEO No. 6 (in as many years), Marissa Mayer, is hanging on by her fingernails. Any person with 196.6 million names unable to generate new revenue should seek some other line of work. What triggered this column was a Feb. 17, 2014 Time magazine story, "THE MAYER EVENT:It's crunch time for Yahoo's turnaround strategy."

How long the free model will hold ? I guess it won't !

"I would love it if Yahoo hired on some old time direct marketers who know the mechanics of old fashioned merchandising." and selling !

 

Time will come when they will remember that money is not only coming from the bank but that a business needs customers...

Pour optimiser le taux de conversion des sites marchands mieux vaut apporter une attention particulière au comportement des internautes. Plusieurs solutions existent, notamment l'accompagnement en temps réel de l'internaute tout au long de son parcours achat.
Sophie Merle's insight:

Si l'on regarde le coût moyen d'acquisition d'un client sur Internet, qui se situe aux environs de 92 dollars, 91 dollars sont consacrés à l'achat de trafic et seulement un dollar pour la conversion de ce trafic. Il est donc important de rééquilibrer ces dépenses afin d'investir davantage sur la transformation des visites en actes d'achat.


Des exemples intéressants sur la levée des freins à l'achat mais peut-être aussi étudier des techniques de ventes /séductions des consommateurs ? et celles qui scellent le ‘deal’ ?

-Témoignages de clients satisfaits, (ou de célébrités cf Enviedefraises)

-discours orienté bénéfices clients plutôt que produits,

-utiliser des images de personnes pour une consommation plus émotionnelle (les décisions d’achat sont essentiellement émotionnelles non rationnelles),(ex : http://www.loreal-paris.fr/maquillage.aspx)

-une image vaut 1000 mots ! Appuyez-vous sur des images qui séduisent (exemple : http://www.victoriassecret.com/) utiliser des images de personnes pour une consommation plus émotionnelle (les décisions d’achat sont essentiellement émotionnelles non rationnelles),(ex : http://www.loreal-paris.fr/maquillage.aspx)

-avoir toutes les informations nécessaires à l’achat (tant sur les produits que sur l’acte d’achat, paiement retour etc…)

-utiliser la marque lorsqu’elle est connue,

- bien identifier son but…trop d’information tue l’information…si vous voulez vendre, vos pages doivent principalement se consacrer à vendre,

- assurer la sécurité et la confiance (c’est une vente à distance) : un des freins essentiel à l’achat sur internet reste la crainte d’avoir des problèmes tant sur le produit qu’avec le paiement, il doit donc être clair que le paiement est sécurisé et que votre produit, si il ne vous convient pas, peut-être retourné,

- multiplier les points de contact : souvent négligé mais la possibilité d’appeler un conseiller ou un chat en ligne pour certain produit peut être nécessaire…dans tous les cas les différents points de contact possible devrait être signalé, cela peut aussi lever un frein et vous donner beaucoup d’information sur des informations oubliées ou négligées sur votre site.

Juste quelques exemples de choses à faire pour améliorer la conversion…
