The Wake County Republican Party says former Democratic Governor Bev Perdue's budgets and the "excessive testing and strain to teacher workloads caused by Common Core" are what's contributing to the increase in teacher resignations in the county.
Rod Powell's insight:

The idea of 600 teachers leaving because of Common Core?  Can YOU smell the desperation?

 

“How many teachers are leaving because of the excessive testing and strain to teacher workloads caused by Common Core?” the Wake GOP asks.

None of the teachers who spoke at the district’s news conference said they’re resigning because of Common Core. All three cited low pay as the reason.
