LBS must be ultra-local in order to truly engage users and provide them with added value.

 

A recent study by TNS found that 46% of LBS users are using their LBS solely for navigation; with the remaining 54% of LBS users navigating in conjunction with other things such as searching for restaurants, checking public transport, finding coupons on local offers and exchanging local information with friends. Credit Suisse projects that 1-billion smartphones will ship in 2014, thus an unprecedented populace will potentially be relying on LBS for all of their "local-social" needs.
