Jean Baptiste Massillon once said:

 "Health and good humor are to the human body like sunshine to vegetation" which means that one can not exist without the other.


"Humor and Health" made me learn a lot of new things, and even made me look at my life differently from the way I was. I decided to put more humor in my life because I want to live in a healthier way, and take some of the stress out of my daily life.

Humor is a powerful emotional medicine that can lower stress, dissolve anger and unite families in troubled times. Laughing at yourself and the situation you are in helps reveal that small things are not earth-shaking events they sometimes seem to be. Looking at a problem from a different perspective can make it seem less formidable and provide opportunities for greater objectivity and insight. Laughter along with an active sense of humor, may help protect you against a heart attack.

The benefits of laughter are very varied, and I explained in detail on all of them during the task.

In the bottom line, to reach a healthier and happier life - you should start to smile and laugh a little more!

This paper describes the working method of Dr. Barbara Karenko

with her patients. Karenko think that through humor her patients feel much more relaxed, which significantly influences their health- their heart rate and blood pressure drop and they need less pain medication. She does not think that the only way to incorporate humor in medicine is only through clown care, she takes the humor towards her own way- Karenko sees the use of humor in medicine as an integral part of her doctor-patient relationships.

The biggest impact of this list is that it can prevent people to become depressed, because they are going through difficult things in life, this is the best way to cope.

A new small study from Loma Linda University in Southern California found a relationship between humor and memory in older individuals.

This article described a study that conducted in California, where a group of 20 healthy elderly were tested by researchers examined the functioning of their memory. The researchers divided them into two groups - the first group was tested after watching comical video for 20 minutes, while the second group was tested without any preparation. The study came to the conclusion that laughter causes the body to release endorphins and send dopamine to the brain – improving overall activity and function, therefore, the first group reached a higher memory level than the other team.

This website directs certain questions to doctors. The second part presents the question of a parent dealing with his fear of clowns. The parent explains to the doctor that his daughter had to go through surgery and the hospital has a "healing program" that includes clowns, and the father expressed concerns. Although my previous links presented how the program of "clown care" helps children and makes them healthier, but we have to look at the parent's side as well - and how he sees it.
