Study: CEOs And Social Media Remain An Unlikely Pair - Forbes | Humanize | Scoop.it
General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt is one of the 18 percent of top CEOs on social media according to a new study on CEO sociability.
Maddie Grant's insight:

"Looking back to 2012, research such as IBM’s Global CEO Survey suggests that executive leaders have finally embraced social media.

The rationale for the conversion is sound business strategy. The report conveyed companies that outperform peers were 30 percent more likely to identify openness – characterized by greater use of social media platforms – as a key influence on their organizations."

Leadership and Your Social Media Voice

Leadership and Your Social Media Voice | Humanize | Scoop.it

On Tuesday, I presented a session entitled “Leadership and Your Social Media Voice” at the North American Jewish Day School Conference. Based on the conference theme of ”Leading to Learn, Learning to Lead,” I offered the session as a conversation-starter for educators who are thinking about or currently using social media personally on behalf of their organizations. The session and presentation addressed the following thematic questions: Why should educational staff use social media personally yet professionally, how could organizational leaders translate their leadership offline to online, and is it possible to have a “playbook” of sorts with which to design one’s professional online presence and voice?

The session focused on three elements: translating leadership vision online, defining leadership voice, and the intersection of transparency with leadership.

IBM Study: If You Don't Have a Social CEO, You're Going to be Less Competitive - Forbes | Humanize | Scoop.it
The list of the world’s CEOs regularly includes celebrities, billionaires, big egos, risk takers, and failures. What it does not include are social media experts; but that’s about to change.
Maddie Grant's insight:

"The study reveals that CEOs are changing the nature of work by adding a powerful dose of openness, transparency and employee empowerment to the command-and-control ethos that has characterized the modern corporation for more than a century."

Beach Buzz Media's curator insight, April 28, 4:07 PM

Beyond the CEO, the whole "C-Suite" should be social to interpret and intercept ideas and to innovate for the future success of the business.

Ted Fickes's curator insight, May 20, 2:45 PM

I think a CEO - or any c-suite person - can really screw up the "be social" thing but being good at online networks is probably, by now, a basic expectation for most organizations and businesses. More valuable than a good golf game, perhaps.

Alejandra: TeamWorks Services Los Altos LLC | Humanize | Scoop.it
TeamWorks Cleaning is a green cleaning cooperative that was started in 2004 with the goal of creating a "social business" that would provide great service to our customers while creating great opportunities for our staff.
Maddie Grant's insight:

HUMANIZE in action.

"TeamWorks was founded in 2004 as a Cleaning Cooperative inspired by the business model of the Mondragon Cooperatives. At TeamWorks, we believe that worker-owned cooperatives could be a practical way to create a socially just and stable economy and, thus, see ourselves as business organization that can help root capital in local communities. At TeamWorks, we are able to provide higher wages and health benefits to our members while creating a working environment that is less stressful and physically demanding than in most other cleaning companies.

What we have found through this model is that when people are worker owners involved in the decision making process for the growth and development of their cooperative, we, as business, are able to guarantee higher standards of quality to our costumers. At the same time, we are also able to create opportunities for professional and self-growth for our members. Just in the past couple of years, we have been working to create assistant manager positions to give our members an opportunity to work outside of the cleaning profession. Today, three of our members work part time as Assistant Managers in Human Development, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable."

Collaborative Economy: Brand Edition | Web Strategy by Jeremiah Owyang | Social Media, Web Marketing | Humanize | Scoop.it
Maddie Grant's insight:

"A few days ago, I announced that I’ll be leading a research effort to understand the impacts of the growing Collaborative Economy trend, I also listed out 200 startups that are in this space (and a few big brands).  For those new to this topic, theres an unstoppable trend of people trading, renting, and borrowing all kinds of services and goods.  The disruptive impacts to brands are high:  consumers can now buy and trade among themselves, often without purchasing things directly from the brands themselves.  Corporations who don’t pay attention to this trend, are leaving themselves in a state of risk as technology and society continue to quickly innovate."
