payload weight is so critical to the time UAV can stay "afloat" Here is a pretty small camera that may be of use to  some UAV applications. The XU 180 will begin shipping in mid-April. A Phase One spokesperson said the camera is priced at $60,000.

Does Google really need a drone delivery service. I hope not. The world needs to look at companies like Wild and Zeiss who invested millions into the  aerial mapping buisness only to to be replaced by Microsoft UltraCam aerial cameras. Microsoft built a great camera and a better workflow and in the past three years I used these these types of camers- cheaper to use. BUT at what cost to an establish industry that use to provide great cameras.

Facebook plans to conduct tests of a solar-powered drone that is the size of a commercial airliner. The drone is designed to beam internet signal to communities currently outside the reach of conventional cellular data networks, and could ultimately stay aloft for months, if not years, at a time.

Despite the increasing risks facing foreigner workers following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in the United States, many of the substantive changes in aid worker security have occurred since the height of sectarian violence in Iraq in 2007. More than 1,900 nonprofit employees were killed, wounded or kidnapped while working between 2000 and 2010, and many nonprofit groups have often viewed security measures as an afterthought, researchers and security analysts say.
