I think the problem is a fundamentally different understanding of the words 'human' and 'rights'.

 

This is the kind of thing that happens when philosophical ideas from a time and place that was much more primitive are taken to be sarcrosact law for all time. Unfortunately, a great many people still live under the oppresssion of those ideas.

 

Do you know what really depresses me? People who refuse to believe in the concept of social evolution - the idea that, as a group, we can be better, more compassionate, just plain nicer to each other, tomorrow than we are today.
