Feedback is sooo important.  Please give feedback during reviews, but make it a two way conversation.

i truly believe that until and unless i trust the person who is giving me feedback.. i wont value it.. the lack of trust makes the feedback any other jargon...

I think we rely too much on the formal performance review. Mid review/annual reviews should reinforce the feedback that you've been giving all year. There should be no surprises.
