Paul's insight:

This video conveys the fact that there are very corrupt political factors that occur without much attention, which can be very detrimental to the overall status of a country. These powers can completely change policies and laws created, and without much attention it will continue to do so.

Corrupt actions performed by politicians can be extremely detrimental to a country, and these actions can cause much civil unrest within a country.

Political Organizations of Space - Nasty Senate race digs deeper in the mud

Political Organizations of Space - Nasty Senate race digs deeper in the mud | Human Geography | Scoop.it
The race for the U.S. Senate seat in Mississippi, already one of the nastiest so far this election year, has gotten even deeper in the mud.
Paul's insight:

As the election nears, the battle for political power grows more fierce, most notable in Mississippi, where the battle has grown to mudslinging back and forth.

This shows how political power results from dirty slandering, insulting, and heavy campaigning.

The “golden era” for China’s property market has passed, according to China Vanke Co., the nation’s biggest developer, which is shifting its focus to homes for owner occupiers rather than investors.
Paul's insight:

Some, including this author, believe that the rapid climb China had in regards to economy and overall power has ended, and describes in depth why he believes so, such as price cuts, share values increasing, and the overwhelming presence of "Big Brother".

This surprising news shows that China has many factors involving its quick growth, and while these factors helped in the early years, the growth that they provided may finally come to a crawl.

Industrialization and Economic Development - Exclusive: After rupee crisis, India central bank shores up currency's defenses | Human Geography | Scoop.it
MUMBAI (Reuters) - Even as money floods into India, its central bank is bracing for the worst, building up currency reserves and drafting a game plan to protect the rupee against the sort of rout that
Paul's insight:

Fears mount as the Indian government prepares to protect its currency. After a previous nosedive in their value of the rupee, the government is desperate that such an ordeal does not happen again, and are taking extra precautions.

This fear shows that although India's economy is growing rapidly, it shows the instability of the economy, and places emphasis on those who have not grasped the quick climb.

Paul's insight:

The government in Slovenia is selling of two of its airports to make it privatized, quite possibly showing the economic downturn for these businesses, or perhaps a way to bring some innovation and increased revenue.

This is a welcome change to the current economy of Slovenia, and any change like this encourages free market enterprise.

With the ongoing economic crisis occurring in Europe, it is quite apparent as to why the voters are angry. Many citizens are changing parties, a surprising and worrisome change to the politicians.

Industrialization and Economic Development - UN News - Commodity-based industrialization key to long-term development in Africa – UN report | Human Geography | Scoop.it
Sweeping political and economic changes over the last half century have set the stage for Africa’s emergence as a global economic power, and the continent should take advantage of that opportunity through a commodity-based industrialization strategy, according to United Nations economic report launched today.
Paul's insight:

A new strategy used in impoverished African nations may be what is needed to setup a new African economy, placing Africa in a leading world role in the future.

This would be a step in the right direction, as Africa is in dire need of some new changes that will increase the overall quality of the country.

President Barack Obama outlined a foreign policy vision of "might doing right," saying modern pragmatism requires a strong military and diplomatic tools.
Paul's insight:

On a recent speech by President Barrack Obama, he says that the US has a obligation to ensure world order, which is apparent by our current global affairs. As the most powerful nation in the world, we must play our part in helping other lesser nations.

Political power is not only confined into a single nation - it can spread worldwide. The US has only confirmed this sentiment by how many things that it is involved in currently around the world.

Political Organizations of Space - Is Anthony Weiner to Blame for the Media Circus in the New York City Mayoral Race? | Human Geography | Scoop.it
Journalists and bloggers, like giggling, grade-school children, can't seem to contain themselves over the opportunity to make fun of the boy in the mayoral race with a name that sounds like a male body part.
Paul's insight:

The quest for political power is attributed to backstabbings, attacks on opposers, and other negative factors. The political leaders are even more corrupt, some notable such as Anthony Weiner, a lying womanizer, who has contributed to the media heyday in NYC.

Many political leaders all share a similar trait- they look good on the outside, but have a much more dark true appearance.

Thailand, once prized in Southeast Asia for its relative economic stability, is in danger of inheriting the “Sick Man of Asia” tag as the latest coup threatens to send investors scurrying toward once-riskier neighbors such as the Philippines and Myanmar.
Paul's insight:

Thailand, once known for its economic stability, may now face problems with the coup that occurred, that seems to have no end in stopping. This may lead to many wealthy investors leave the country for safer grounds, most likely hurting the economy.

If the coups continue to occur it is almost certain that Thailand will face dire economic problems, and the continuous development it has enjoyed over the years may finally come to an end.

Paul's insight:

While the effort was sound and appeared to be a welcome change, the fact remains that Portugal did not receive much out of the bailout, and still face many economic problems, and will face a long climb to reach its preferred level of economic development.

This article shows that while the bailout was necessary, it did not change much for Portugal, and perhaps for many other countries in the EU as well.

Paul's insight:

Investors in Africa are angry at the continuous negative headline after another about Africa, and are determined to change it, believing that Africa is a land of opportunity.

This is a positive change for the African community, showing that they are working hard to portray Africa in a positive light, and perhaps do more than that and industrialize.

Industrialization and Economic Development - Counting Drugs and Prostitution in GDP Makes a Mockery of Budget Rules | Human Geography | Scoop.it
The new accounting will make it easier for Italy to slip under the European Union's debt-to-GDP ceiling
Paul's insight:

Some countries are resorting in applying drug and prostitution money in their overall GDP, which is very offensive and perhaps artificial to many.

This change is seen as a way to artificially increase the supposed economic output in a country to make the citizens in the country feel that the economy is improving.

Industrialization and Economic Development - Why Vietnam Can't Count on Its Neighbors to Rally Against China | Human Geography | Scoop.it
Many members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations prefer to shun conflict with China, their biggest trading partner and aid donor
Paul's insight:

Vietnam has recently had clashes with China, and is surprised that none of the other countries will help defend against a trivial matter against the industry giant and military powerhouse that is China.

While the case might not gain that much traction, it shows that Vietnam is willing to challenge the giant nation, even if there is little chance that anything will happen.
