Some of these maps nicely highlight some regional differences within India. There are plenty of articles like this now (for example, 40 maps that explain the Middle East, and 38 Maps that explain Europe). While we can all agree that maps are great analytical tools that can be very persuasive, sometimes we can pretend that they are the end all, be all for any situation.  Also, any list like this, it is bound to have a few clunkers, but it is worth it  to find those teaching gems.

You gotta love how maps can be a wealth of information (#1)

Caitlyn Christiansen's curator insight, May 26, 2015 5:43 PM

The United States is a very interesting country. This article uses 13 unique maps that make a statement about America and its history, the way the individual states compare to one another, and comparing the US to the rest of the world, whether spatially, socially, economically, or demographically.

This article relates to the political organization of space through the political differences that are drawn clearly on comparing states GDPs, size or population to other countries or to each other. How the space is organized depends on these factors, yet is almost independent depending on the state.

Interesting ways to stimulate discussion of Developed and Developing Worlds.

via @Stephen_H

Gabe Tucker's comment, September 10, 2013 8:33 PM
It is quite obvious to see which countries are developed and which countries are still developing. The obvious developed areas are the USA, Western Europe, and a majority of India and China. The developing areas are South America, Eastern Europe/Asia, and Australia. Africa is mostly undeveloped. These trends are due to technology and finances. The countries with the most technology are more developed, and the countries with the least technology are still developing or are not developed at all.
Justin McFarland's comment, September 12, 2013 9:32 PM
It's interesting to see what countries have developed and what countries are still finding there way in this world; whether its with technology, government policy, but in this case ... its maps.
