While in many foreign countries, McDonald's is more upscale, not so in the United States...expect in this Long Island location apparently.  Restaurants sell more than food; they sell a brand, ambiance and a cultural feel.   This is an odd experiment in the United States  where the brand is synonymous with "cheap."
