Feng Shui and Tea in London!

Feng Shui and Tea in London! | How to sleep better? | Scoop.it
An Qi Feng Shui, London's insight:

I would like to thank all those who attended our Feng Shui & Tea event last Thursday.

A few months ago, I was sharing with you a thought on how Food played a significant role in Asia and has been treated as medicine. For the same reason, Tea is often considered as a Traditional Chinese Medicine based on the Wu Xing or Five Element Theory. Tea is more and more drank for its health benefits especially in Asia but also in Europe. According to the Five Element Principle, each element is related to an internal organ, the time of the day, season, temperature, sound, taste, direction and sense. Each tea has a temperature as well. By knowing your main element - based on your Day Master  - and by analysing its strength, we are able to suggest the type of teas for you to find balance and well being.

Is Sleep A Kind of Meditation?

Is Sleep A Kind of Meditation? | How to sleep better? | Scoop.it

Sometimes people tell me that they feel that their sleep is a kind of meditation, in which they enter a different world, one that they feel is similar to the state of meditation.

What things do you insist on having in a hotel room? - FT.com

What things do you insist on having in a hotel room? - FT.com | How to sleep better? | Scoop.it

"This is a stupid question because it clearly requires further context before it is properly answerable. A room at an airport hotel for a few hours of rest between connecting flights? Or a room merely used to sleep in while business meetings are done all day outside? Or a room on holiday for a stay of a week or two? Without these contexts, it is meaningless to answer the question. The reason so many hotel rooms are badly designed is because they are done precisely without proper reference to context.

If there were one thing I’d like most in any hotel room, in any context, it would be romance. Take the small top suite, at the dilapidated Grand Hotel in Tangier, in which Matisse painted many of his Moroccan paintings looking across to Europe from the shores of Africa. Or the Churchill Suite at La Mamounia in Marrakech from where you can smell an olive grove but see a snowcapped Atlas mountain across the desert. Yes, a room with a view. Forster got it in one"

An Qi Feng Shui, London's insight:

Very interesting article by David Tang from FT about What things people do insist on having in a hotel room? People have very different expectations, but for me I need to sleep well first and foremost!

The Correlation between a Good Diet and Great Sleep

The Correlation between a Good Diet and Great Sleep | How to sleep better? | Scoop.it
Do your children have problems with falling to sleep or waking up in the middle of the night? If they do it’s possible that the reason is their diet. In fact, diet is the number one cause of sleep problems among children and controlling what they eat, especially around bedtime, is vital if you want them to be able to get the sleep that they need in order to learn and grow at a normal rate.
An Qi Feng Shui, London's insight:

I totally agree with this article and share the same idea that this is important for my children to have a scheduled meal time every day, a bedtime routine every night that sets the standard. It is probably not easy or possible to give diner 4 hours before going to bed for a child as he/she might be busy with his/her studies or after school activities, however I usually give diner at 6pm so that it gives a good amount of time for them to digest the meal before going to bed.

What is a “good night’s sleep” for your child? | How to sleep better? | Scoop.it
Any parent can tell you a horror story about trying to get their child to sleep. Whether this is the odd night or a more long standing problem, sleeping issues can be one of the most disruptive things in a household. So it will come as no surprise to parents that there is growing awareness of the true benefits of comfortable and regular sleep for children. According to the Sleep Council .........
An Qi Feng Shui, London's insight:

I often have the request from my Feng Shui clients about how to create a room so that the child can sleep better. This is a very interesting article to see the average sleep needs for a child. I totally agree that good sleep patterns make a real contribution to a child's development, learning and growth on a physical and emotional level.

I also 100% believe that the choice of the bed, mattress, bed furniture and the atmosphere you create are important to create good sleep patterns.
