Historically (and statistically), social media has always skewed slightly favourably towards women, and recent studies suggest that almost three-quarters (71 percent) of internet female users are active on one or more social media sites, compared to slightly less than two-thirds (62 percent) of men.

Typically, women are more likely to use Twitter (which has a 62 percent female populous), Facebook (58 percent women) and, of course, Pinterest (70 percent women), whereas men dominate Google+ (64 percent men), LinkedIn (54 percent men) and YouTube (54 percent men).

What Successful People Do With The First Hour Of Their Work Day

What Successful People Do With The First Hour Of Their Work Day | How to Grow Your Non-Profit | Scoop.it
Remember when you used to have a period at the beginning of every day to think about your schedule, catch up with friends, maybe knock out a few tasks? It was called home room, and it went away after high school.

This article suggests the following to do in the first hour of your work day:

1.  Don't read Email!

2.  Take stock of what you are grateful for, and visualize what you want.

3.  Do the hardest thing on your To-Do List. The thing you hate.

4.  Choose your Frog... read this to find out what it is.

5.  Perform acts of customer/client service.

The first one, Don't Read Your Email is probably the hardest, and best advice.  Next, Do the hard stuff first.  Love this, Ken

Oxford Launches $140M Big Data Drug Discovery Initiative | How to Grow Your Non-Profit | Scoop.it

Alzheimer's takes at least 15 years to develop, and by the time symptoms appear it is generally too late to reverse. The condition is marked by the buildup of a sticky protein clump called amyloid plaque in the brain. Although pharmaceuticals have spent more than $30 billion researching this plaque in the brain, they are still having difficulties coming up with a drug that is showing promise.
