This article is about police officers being abused by the public when trying to ensure their safety. This article highlights 6 different out of control parties were the policemen were called in to stop people fighting, causing damage and disturbing the entire neighbourhood. Duty inspector Mal Anderson believes that the residents should be appreciative the police are attending their matters and they shouldn't be abused which has become more prominent of late. In one instance in in out of control party in Balga an officer was knocked unconscious by being kicked in the back of the head trying to stop the brawl taking place and had to be hospitalised.
I believe this article affects teenagers because it displays some of the consequences of alcohol and one is that you lose your inhibitions and you end up doing something you regret like ending up in a fight and causing damage for example throwing beer bottles at passing cars which's mentioned in this article. This article also states the legal implications and that you could end up arrested if you do cause havoc which was what happened to the females who attacked the police officer. In addition this article illuminates the pressure and dangers that police officers work through and that we mustn't abuse them and take their service and their temperation for granted.
This article relates to the work we have been doing in PDHPE and it relates to the effects of alcohol and the consequences of becoming intoxicated. Also this article demonstrates the neccessity for us to stay in control of ourselves which is the topic this term.
