Stephen Hawking's Grand Design - Did God Create The Universe?

Professor Stephen Hawking unfolds his personal, compelling vision of the biggest question of all: Is there a god who created and controls the universe in which we live? To answer this controversial and age old question, Hawking takes us on a journey through humanity's history of appraising our place in the Universe - from Vikings facing down eclipses to the laws of modern cosmology. Using the laws of physics, Hawking argues that the universe can pop into being from absolutely nothing, that there was no time before the creation of the universe and therefore, no room for a Grand Designer.

Chelsea Pemberton's insight:

this video on youtube provided a lot of interesting information that was easier to take in and memories rather than reading an article. Many people have different political and religious views on how the universe began and in this case Stephen Hawkings brings up the topic about how God created the universe.

How do we know the Big Bang happened?

Most scientists accept that the Universe began with a Big Bang. But how do we know about something that happened so long ago?

There are many different stories that have enough evidence to prove the creation of the universe. This article is telling us that the Big Bang is the real deal and the theory actually did happen. One of these theories has to be true, but everyone will believe their own thing. This wesbsite tells us that after the big bang it left an unknown number of rays of light and signals (cosmic microwaveback ground). Even though there is enough evidence to prove this Big Bang theory did happen, plenty of people are left unconvinced.

The point this site is trying to make is that how do we actually know that the big bang happened, the way they are proving that it did happen is by pointing out obvious facts. For example, the universe is expanding. The site tells us about how when we look at the sky at night we see all the stars but they’re still come fuzzy patches that we need a telescope to actually see clearly, and we also would think that the stars are moving towards us but they’re not most of them are actually moving away. We can see the afterglow of the big bang, and it tells us that we cannot see it with a naked eye but if we have the right telescopes we can see it which comes at least a little bit close to proving that the big bang did happen. This site has all different facts on how to prove that the big bang actually did happen.
