The size of brackets are very important. Before the use of modern day technology, brackets were very big and very uncomfortable. Occasionally, the placement of the brackets on every tooth would be different in result of unprofessional looking work. WIth the use of technology, more comfortable brackets have been designed. They have made the brackets more glossy on the outside. A lot of the time, people now cannot even feel when they have braces on because technology has helped people design more advanced forms of brackets and brace that not only look nicer, but feel better and that do not cause damage to your mouth. The process of getting a better smile should not be a dreadful process. Now it is not a process that people can wait to have. Technology has influenced orthodontics from brackets, to the length of time one has braces, to the accuracy, and to the appearance. The practice of orthodontics has improved and has come so far.

Some people worried about having braces because they do not want to have to go through a painful experience.  Before technology, braces were a painful experience. Full of changing brackets and tightening wires and hard and painful forms. Now the process is not painful and is quick and easy too. When one has braces, checkups are required to tighten the wires or to fix any broken brackets. Lots of children hated the process of having to go to the orthodontist, but now many kids and teens cannot wait to go because not only is it not painful, but it means that you are one step closer to being brace free. The technology that makes the process painless, is also what makes orthodontics so much better. No one wants to be stuck in pain for a number of years. They have come up with 3-D x-rays that give orthodontists a better visual on the jaw to more accurately line up the brackets and wires to make it a less painless and a faster process.

TADs enable us to overcome the challenge of unwanted movement in the anchor teeth (typically the molars), by providing a secure, fixed anchor point in the bone that can be used as leverage to affect movement in the teeth and eliminate unwanted movement elsewhere. TADs can be placed with the use of just a small amount of topical anesthesia applied to the gingiva, making the procedure virtually painless for the patient. Once treatment is completed, the TADs are removed.br /br /strongCustom smile designstrongbr /br /One of the most exciting new treatment philosophies to emerge in recent years is a unique method of indirect bonding combined with the use of custom-designed bracket and wires. Called Insignia, it is the first and only customized smile design system to incorporate 3-D treatment planning software as well as brackets and wires customized specifically for each patient. br /br /The Insignia software converts a typical set of impressions into a precision 3-D virtual model of the patientrsquo;s teeth. The orthodontist can then make any modifications desired to achieve the ideal smile for that patient. The orthodontist can even show the final results to the patient. The brackets are manufactured and then placed on the teeth with the use of emrecision placement guidesem mdash; or jigs mdash; for the most accurate level of indirect bonding. A series of corresponding arch wires is also provided to work in conjunction with the customized brackets to maximize efficient tooth movement. br /br /Moreover, it is often more comfortable for the patient compared with traditional braces and provides a truly customized smile, having been designed with the patientrsquo;s unique dental and facial features in mind.br /br /strongPassive self-ligating bracesstrongbr /br /Perhaps one of the most radical changes in the orthodontic industry has been a new understanding of how friction and ligation forces work to affect tooth movement. Conventional twin brackets use elastic ligatures or steel wire ties to apply pressure to the bracket and move the tooth into place with the arch wirersquo;s guidance. This system of traditional or active ligation results in significant friction between the wire and the bracket, requiring heavier forces to move the teeth. This often results in significant patient discomfort and slower treatment time.br /br /Unlike traditional ligating systems, new passive self-ligating brackets use a slide mechanism that opens to allow the provider to place the wire inside and then close it, creating a slot where the wire is free to glide inside. This approach not only reduces friction and pressure, but also results in more effective forces that make treatment more comfortable for the patient. This new approach also yields much more impressive results mdash; including the ability to alleviate crowding very often without the use of rapid palatal expanders and significantly eliminating the need for extractions.br /br /strongClear bracketsstrongbr /br /The advent of clear tray-style aligners has attracted the attention of many patients who want to improve their smile but who would prefer to avoid the metal-mouth look of braces. However, the problem with clear aligners is that they are not effective for achieving significant tooth movement, and they often take much longer to work compared to regular braces. br /br /To give patients the results they want with the esthetics they desire, innovative new clear brackets like the Damon Clear system are virtually invisible and highly resistant to staining and discoloring compared with other clear brackets on the market. Technology has affected many things in many things in our current world today. One of those being, orthodontics. One of the amazing things about orthodontics is that no matter how advanced technology becomes, we will always need dentists. Although, without the help of technology, the orthodontics process would be a lot more complicated. Technology has made the process of braces more accurate. Technology has even made it possible to put brackets inside of the teeth which has been a huge success because most people do not like what they look like with braces so it has given orthodontists more business to those who want straighter teeth without the long term of being seen with braces. Since technology makes it more accurate, it makes the process faster as well which is really good for orthodontics. That is an example of how technology has affected orthodontics.

Invisalign may just be one of the biggest achievements of all. Along with the braces that go on the inside of your mouth, invisalign is a retainer that is clear and removable. Many celebrities are using invisalign since they cannot be seen by the public. Inivsalign could not have been accomplished without the help and the use of technology. Technology has helped create molds that you put into the mouth to get the size and the shape of your jaw and teeth. This has been a very popular process and product. Technology has also made retainers more advanced for when after you have braces. They used to be a metal bar that went across your teeth that everyone could see and that no one wanted to wear so now it is clear so no one can see it which makes people thankful for the technology that has influenced teeth because teeth are one of the main pinpoints on someones face which means that everyone can see everyones teeth so they care about what people see. Technology has made it possible for people to be happy with what their teeth look like during the braces process and after.

Most adults that had braces, either had braces for a long time, or were not very happy with their results. One of the reasons being, the technology was not advanced and they did not use the same techniques and tools that they did. They have machines that can inspect your jaw line and can really help orthodontists get a more accurate idea of how long they are going to need braces and how bad their teeth is. Now with x-ray machines, you are able to see how your grownup teeth are growing in so that you can start planning braces even before your teeth come in which is a very amazing thing. Technology has also given people more variety of braces and different kinds of braces. They have created different colors and styles. This has helped the field of orthodontics a lot because people who are worried about what their braces would look like do not have to really worry because the technology has made it so that you can choose what kinds of brackets and colors that you have.
