Comparison Chart: Islam, Judaism and Christianity - ReligionFacts

Comparison Chart: Islam, Judaism and Christianity - ReligionFacts | How and why culture and religion clash and the effects on society. | Scoop.it
Comparison chart of origins, statistics, beliefs and practices of Islam, Judaism and Christianity, the three great monotheistic faiths of the world. Compare the similarities and differences of the three Abrahamic faiths.
Ethan Gelpi's insight:

After Christianity, Islam is the second biggest religion. Because Islam originated in the Middle East, it has many beliefs and rituals similar to Judaism and Christianity. These three monotheistic faiths are known as the Abrahamic faiths because their history all traces back to Abraham in the Hebrew Bible. This chart is a simplified comparison of the three Abrahamic faiths.

Arab-Israeli conflict - Role of religion

Brief overview of the role Islamic religion, and pan-Arab nationality in the current conflicts in the Middle-East and global terror.
Ethan Gelpi's insight:

Clash of Civilizations 4th paragraph:

There are numerous differences between the western civilization and the Arab culture. In spite of this, radical islamists from Arab countries have made a new religious philosophy for destroying the Western culture through terrorism. These acts of terrorism are usually done by suicide terrorists who achieve "shahid" and are promised eternal life in heaven. Most recently, suicide crews have been sent to attack America leading to thousands of people dead. The terrorists in 9/11 are all identified as Arabs mainly from Saudi Arabia. Even though the world seemed not to care about suicide terrosrists in Israel, the world was shocked by the attacks in the U.S. and was awakended to the dangers of radical Islam.

We can thank Obama for the violence in Egypt and the takeover by the Muslim Brotherhood. He stood with the Muslim Brotherhood and allowed Morsi to take power, while calling for the removal of Mubarak an ally of the US who kept the peace between Christians in Egypt and peace with Israel. How soon before Egypt starts to use the F-16's and tanks Obama has provided them against Israel??

NCCIGP002_-Position_of_religious_institutions_towards_islam_and_muslims_after_11_-_09.pdf

Ethan Gelpi's insight:

Attitudes towards Islam 1st paragraph:

The Catholic Church and Liberal Protestants, for example the medodists, have, for the most part, had a positive attitude towards Islam. Most of them have not blamed Islam as a religion for what happened on September 11, 2001. Many have urged for Islam to not be judged because of what some Muslims have done. Although they have been speaking of Islam positively, Catholics and Liberal Protestants have called for Muslims to adopt Western-style religious pluralism. This has also called for their education system to be changed to take out any negative reference to the Islamic and any other faiths.

Attitudes towards Muslims 2nd paragraph:
Conservative Protestants, such as Southern Baptists, have turned away from an "interfaith" movement. Some have even charged their leaders with blasphemy for going to and leading interfaith prayer-meetings which have become very common within Liberal protestant communities. They were also mad about how much attention was given to anti-Muslim hate-crimes by the Catholics and Liberal Protestants.

A recent Saturday Night Live skit mocks Jesus Christ in a movie trailer for a film called, Djesus Uncrossed. It starts with Jesus rising from the dead and coming out of his tomb. He then says the words, “Guess who’s back.” He then has a killing spree against the Nazarene’s enemies, including his traitor, Judas Iscariot. This mockery has offending many Christians and has people in an uproar.
