Creating a Productivity Journal has not only increased the amount of tasks I accomplish, it has also reduced my stress level while improving my creativity.
Brian D. Hawkins's insight:
Yep, I can feel the stress relaxing to bearable levels again and I can’t think of anything better for our creative ability than being able to relax and concentrate without nagging little distractions forcing their way into our immediate thoughts. Logging it into reality, for me anyway, puts a lid on the distraction.
Do you try to keep your business and personal profiles/content separate? Do you post biz links on your personal profiles? Do you post personal photos on your business accounts? Will will accept biz contacts on your personal profiles? Why to any of that?
I'm just quoting an extract from Natalie Burg's article:
Of those 100 or so fully composed daily stories, only about 15 will make it to the blog. The curators gnaw the contender list down by testing each with unpublished paid posts on Facebook. Rather than simply posting a link to their audience, PetFlow pays to distribute them to a certain segment of Facebook users who aren’t fans. If a post meets a certain criteria—a classified combo of likes, clicks, shares, or comments—it graduates to the blog and is shared with the PetFlow Facebook pack.
A fascinating look at the Upworthy-like curation system!

It seems like every few months there’s another Facebook killer that comes into play. Early in 2014, Facebook was done, abandoned by teens, a blow that would equate to a slow death by a thousand non-clicks as the effects of losing that young audience rippled through, demographic by demographic. Based on various studies since, the youth migration seems to have some base – teens sick of having their parents, (or worse: grandparents), commenting on their status updates and life choices were migrating to cooler pastures, places where the adults hadn’t yet taken up residence. That, and the rapid growth of Snapchat, was enough to have commentators rattling off obituaries for the world’s largest social network – which continues to grow every day. Ello is the latest name on everyone’s cursor tips, the latest answer to the question of ‘what’s the future of social media?’ But is Ello the Facebook killer, as alleged, or is it another case of mistaken identity?
Daily Task Checklist Inspired by "The Art of Procrastination" http://hbt.link/checklists NOT a #productivity book. This book won't help make you more productive but at least you'll understand why you procrastinate while getting a laugh at the same time.
People who are regularly bombarded with several streams of electronic information cannot pay attention, recall information, or switch from one job to another as well as those who complete one task at a time.
Conducted on over 600 small business owners via telephone interviews, the survey revealed that social media is, in some instances, helping SMBs fulfill some business goals. Of the seven most popular reasons to embrace social media, the top four were: connecting with customers (78%), marketing and promotion (72%), building online reputation (72%) and advertising (69%). From a personal standpoint, it’s so interesting to me that businesses are still focused less on marketing or promoting or advertising than they are listening – what a missed opportunity....
