This is my gift for horse people all over the world.  I realize you are looking for proven techniques to train both your horse and your students.  Now you do!  The Horse and Rider Awareness videos are homemade and follow the training progress of several horses and riders over the years.  They are live films taken in the actual training session so you can see what happens to real horses and riders.  There is no editing and I am filming as I coaching.  These techniques have been tested on 1000's of horses and riders and have also been used in instructor training and certification programs.

How to get your hands steady at the trot. Part #2

In this session, I asked Camille what she would like to focus on. She said she would like to have steadier hands... A steady hand comes from a secure riding position. We started at the walk in part 1, and now in Part 2 are focused at the trot. As you will notice, we use a lot of different exercises for Camille. Since we are focused on her position we are not as focused on Polo's balance,

As always, we do not edit what we show you. This way, you can see what happens to real horses and riders as they go through the training process.

How can the leg yield get your horse more balanced at the canter?

This is Susan Faulkner Evans on Beau. They are working on adding the feeling of the leg yield to the canter so that Susan has more control of his hind quarters. This is a very difficult exercise. They are moving up to 1st Level Dressage after a very successful year last year at Training level. Now, they need to be able to do a leg yield. Beau is not thrilled with the leg yield as he has to become aware of his hind legs in a new way. As a result, all of our movements will now have a feel of the leg yield to make sure that both Susan and Beau have a good feeling of what it is to be balanced laterally on the outside rein and leg. As this exercise continues you will see Beaus shoulders lift as he becomes more active with his hind legs at the walk.

As always, we do not edit what we show you. This way, you can see what happens to real horses and riders as they go through the training process.
