This is Susan Faulkner Evans new horse, Darrien. In this session we start by focusing on connecting him at the trot as he starts to track up. (stepping into his front hoof print with his hind leg on the same time) Next, we move into the canter. As you will see, he is not sure of what he should be doing with his back or neck. His steps are not regular and his tendency is to lift his head up and cram his neck down into his shoulders , drop his back and step back with his hind legs instead of underneath his center. You can see that in the beginning they are dragging and the left hind actually looks a little off. Our goal is to build up the strength of that left hind leg.
We are going to share everything we do with Darrien here so you can see exactly what we are doing and why.
