We all know how difficult and expensive it is to have a well SEO optimized website.  Because of this, many of us have taken what may be seen as the ‘easy route’and have optedfor Google’s Adwords.   In doing so, we’ve realized that there’s a lot more to it than meets the eye.   Time and most importantly the expense, can mean emergency CPR for the heart, and the hip-pocket.

 

When I ask the question “Do you click on the Adwords or the Organic Listings?”  Very, very rarely do I ever hear anyone say they click on the ‘paid Ads’  (Adwords) Then there’s the  average click through rate.    They say it’s around 2%.   So one needs a hell of a lot of impressions to get anywhere.Oh and don’t forget, there are people out there that are PAID to click on competitors ads, just to drive up the cost!  

 

The average Adword’s clientdoes not have the experience nor time to manage their account correctly to gain high CTR’s  (Click through rates) .   Even in Google’s words they say “Advertisers who have really taken the time to learn how Adwords works, and who spend lots of time managing their account and tuning things up often 'earn' a CTR in the double digits.”    Sure, but that naturally HAS TO equate to lot’s of money too...Right?   

 

There are so many ‘variables’ with Adwords…The right keywords, the cost per click, who’s outbidding your keywords, how much is a word worth, and so on and so on.    It really can make your hair fall out and drain your bank account.   The ‘average’Adwords client can easily spend $500 - $1500 per month, and this can skyrocket for others.

 

But perhaps one of the most important aspects of this subject is “What isGoogle search really used for?     Let’s face it, it’s a FACT that people DON’T buy newspapers or magazines for the Ads.   They don’t go on Facebook to find Ads. And they certainly don’t go to search engines for Ads!  People buy newspapers and magazines for information, and go on Facebook to socialize.     The same can be said for Google and all the other search engines.   Ads in these advertising mediums speculate that you’ll see something of interest, just for the mere fact of being there.     But the reality is, people go to places like Google sites seeking information! 

 

But what information?

 

Do they go to look for a Product or Service, or do they go looking for ‘how to grow tulips’, ‘how to build a pergola, ‘what html do I use for this term’... and the list is endless…  if you were to ask anyone, more often than not, people go to Google and other like sites for the latter.    Yes, they do go searching for products and services, but the experience can (and is) very frustrating and very time consuming…and hence probably why Adwords rakes in billions of $’s annually for Adwords, because these ads are more than likely for products and/or services.

 

But here’s my point…If Adwords is what it is, and search is generally for general information, how in the name of human sanity can anyone find a product or service they need that can be found ultra fast, is precise, skewed specifically for locality, is in an uncluttered environment, and doesn’t give me the ‘run-around’?    

 

Well you may say, there’s online yellow pages, trade sites, directories and the like.  Plenty around!  Plenty to choose from!     OMG, please,  the world of search doesn’t need more stress!    My stance is simple…, if near on 80% of people go to Google for general information, why can’t I have just ONE PLACE to search for Products and Services that is global and gives me the benefits as a searcher I just mentioned above?

 

I’ll let you into a little secret…Someone’s not already thought of it…They’ve created it!     Whilst totally unknown at this point, they’re called HOORAAY! and they have the potential to be the next giant global search specifically just for products and services.    And they make a good argument because of their strategies for advertisers using the site.

 

That argument is simply that Hooraay! is an investment for the foreseeable future, just like one would invest in shares, a home, or a business, with the premise of being rewarded financially further on down the track whilst Hooraay! is building.    It makes sense even for the critics, because if it happens the way they envisage, advertisers on Hooraay! could really cash in.

 

Their search is carried out via location and category.    They limit the number of businesses to 6 in any category/location.    They then guarantee Page #1 position for every one of those 6 in the category/location search terms.    This means that all 6 businesses get a fair and equal chance of getting high click through’s to the main information pages, and consequently their websites.

 

Because of the uniqueness of Hooraay! SEO for Advertisers they say, will become pretty well unnecessary and there are NO charges for click-through’s or impressions.Consequently, one can have unlimited visitors with no surprise billing at the end of the month.  Oh, and one doesn’t even need a website to be a part of the site.

 

In their video they state that they simply want to give the millions of web-sites offering products and/or services (who will never see high page ranking on the traditional search engines) the opportunity to be found fast and without all the fuss.   And with an entry price of just $39.95 per month for 3 months and renewal at just $69.95 per month thereafter, it seems to me that a whole year’s investment on the site is less than most would pay for a month on Adwords!

 

It’s worth checking out their video which you can view HERE, and their information site HERE.     They’re not making any outrageous claims that by joining Hooraay! now that your phone is going to ring of it’s hook.    To the contrary…What they are advocating is that by getting in now, and when the goal of recognition is there, any business investing will reap the rewards big time…

 

For me, an investment of around $62 a month is worth the gamble to support a totally differentiating site on the premise that I can finally have just one search portal for products and services and not have to go through the entire rat-race to find what I want, where I want.    For heaven’s sake, in some countries, it’s not even the cost of 4 packs of fags or a meal for 4 per month!    So it’s got my vote!
