Honduras's agriculture has been dominated first by bananas and then to a lesser extent by coffee and sugar.Bananas and coffee still account for 50% of Honduras's exports in 1992. That year coffee produced $287 million (US dollars) and coffee produced $148 million (US dollars). Compared to 1991 these numbers are low. Banana shipped to multiple nations, where coffee isn't as popular. They tried going for the sugar industry, but that was a complete disaster. It led to stikes by small farmers/producers.
