Louis Logic endorses Mykki Blanco and denounces Homophobia in Hip-Hop

Louis Logic takes a moment to tell a story about his experience at a Mykki Blanco Mercury Lounge show and denounces Homophobia in Hip Hop Music.
Malik Heart Hammond's insight:

Louis Logic is obviously a firm believer in destroying homophobia in hip-hop. Mykki Blando seems to be a homosexual MC but that doesn't take away his talents or is human rights. It feels good when your peers are behind you in your decisions, and Louis Logic is totally behind Mykki and totally against homophobia.

DMC's Anti-Homophobia Hip-Hop Challenge

Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, one of the founding members of legendary hip-hop icons Run-D.M.C., records a special message to fellow artists from hip-hop culture.
Malik Heart Hammond's insight:

This is certainly a reassurance of the positivity that can be pushed into hip-hop. NOH8 is a campaign/charitable organization in the United States whose mission is to promote marriage, gender and human equality through education, advocacy, social media, and visual protest. DMC is a supporter because of the homophobia that has infected hip-hop.

Malik Heart Hammond's insight:

It is truly unfortunate that in this particular case, T-pain is correct in saying that some rappers actually wont work with Frank Ocean due to their own homophobia; pushing aside the fact that Frank Ocean is a very talented and well known R&B vocalist.

Malik Heart Hammond's insight:

This is an exact example of a creative and positive way to take a stand against Homophobia. Sometimes that may include the non belief in same-sex marriage. I'm sure there were stude\\\

Is It Hip-Hop Homophobia Over French Nails and Skirts?
The Root
Apparently, veteran gangster rapper Snoop Dogg still enjoys defying all the rules of so-called authentic black masculinity found in mainstream hip-hop culture.
Malik Heart Hammond's insight:

Homophobia in hip-hop only exists because rappers and industry executives have their own take on what you should and should not be or do. There are so called "Rules" of authentic black masculinity found in mainstream hip-hop  that keeps rappers on a constant mission to be respected. Snoop is a legend in the hip-hop industry and he has his own different type of swagger in everything that he does. French Nails is a popular trend for men who are pimps; Yes Snoop Dogg took part in sex trafficking as a young man for a source of income. Therefore that sums up indeed why he gets his nails done frequently. With this trend he keeps up, he has all the respect an artist can have from his fans however, some of his peers certainly do not support the french nails trend. If Snoop Dogg was gay the homophobia level towards him would be the same as it is towards Frank Ocean
