Mixing Home Business and Home Schooling

Mixing Home Business and Home Schooling | Homeschooling 365 | Scoop.it

Welcome!  I do still post occasionally to my old blog, but after hanging up my bookbag in 2010 after 21 years of homeschooling, I see that the posts have less and less to do with homeschooling and more to do with other topics that may or may not be of interest to homeschoolers.

I am still involved in the homeschool community and am a passionate advocate for parental rights and homeschooling freedom. This ScoopIt! blog is an attempt to help you stay abreast of trends in homeschooling and give you helpful information for your journey, whether you are a veteran or just considering homeschooling.

The title of each article here is the link to the original source article(including this one, should you want to visit my other blog!). This is a "curated" blog - which means that I am just acting as a tour guide for great content about homeschooling that I find around the Web.  But you can still count on me - always! - to add my own two cents to each article.

Be sure to check out the list of TAGS above that will help you narrow your focus and get the most out of your visit.

Thanks for coming!

Corkboard Connections: Are You as Lucky as a Leprechaun?

Corkboard Connections: Are You as Lucky as a Leprechaun? | Homeschooling 365 | Scoop.it

Did you ever stop to think how lucky you are? You might, but your students may not. Here's a fun freebie for St. Patrick's Day or Dr. Seuss's birthday, March 2nd. Ask your students if they think they are lucky, and allow time for sharing. If anyone says that they are NOT lucky, it's time to read aloud one of Dr. Seuss's classics, Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are? By the end of the book, everyone will be giggling, and it will be easy to discuss just how lucky we really are!

Famous Homeschoolers

Famous Homeschoolers | Homeschooling 365 | Scoop.it
Famous homeschoolers are everywhere. You just may not know that they homeschool. Find out which notable people, famous athletes and celebrities homeschool.

I did a post on my own blog about famous homeschoolers, but some of the ones on this list are eye popping. I knew, for instance, that Tim Tebow, Jordin Sparks, The Jonas Brothers and Hanson were homeschooled, but was surprised to learn of Dakota Fanning, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake. I guess it depends on what you want to "prove" about homeschooling whether you will consider the latter group to be ringing endorsements for homeschooling.

Whoopi Goldberg. Really?

Homeschooling on the Cheap: September 17, 2011

Homeschooling on the Cheap: September 17, 2011 | Homeschooling 365 | Scoop.it

Kelli of "Homeschooling on the Cheap" is another curator, but her site allows you to submit your best homeschooling posts for each edition. It's a magazine style carnival, and it also has coupons and homeschooling deals - coupons, discounts, and other sundries of interest to homeschooling families.

Seems like she has some sources of articles that are a little different from some of the other carnivals - enjoy!
