Creating Music with iPads - iPad and Technology in Music Education

Creating Music with iPads - iPad and Technology in Music Education | home recording studios | Scoop.it

"One area that I don’t have time to explore very often during the school year is creating music on my iPad. It seems with all the day to day activities of teaching that I totally loose touch with musical explorations and composing. I’ve been taking more time lately to do this and I am floored at what I can do with an iPad and a few apps. I am not going to give you a history lesson here but I will say that at one time in my career I dreamed of creating a wonderful MIDI lab outfitted with computers, keyboards, speakers and mixers for my students to use. That dream never happened because of the crazy cost involved. My dream has been reshaped. Here is what I’ve found…."

I think this is pretty cool, if you have a iPad you can make music by just downloading apps.  You can take a iPad anywhere, you can be bored, or sitting somewhere ust waiting and  you can just pulled out your ipad and start making music and that is of course if you are into music.

The involvement the Apple products has had in the music industry is just amazing. In Mr. Shimmons article, he mentions all the new apps created to make music that sounds somewhat professional at a very low to no cost. This news all that bad considering now humans can teach the youth how to compose music and possibly make it easier to learn instruments. However, it is becoming a growing problem for the industry itself because everyone wants to be their 'own producer' and people are paying less for record labels.

Using an external audio recorder in video production and filmmaking is often referred to as "double system." This practice requires a bit more work on your part; but if the ultimate goal is to create an excellent finished product, then capturing good sound should be a top priority...
