The University of Michigan used malicious apps to hack Samsung's SmartThings platform. The team found it is possible to gain PIN codes for locks and trick inside devices to turn on or shut down.

I'm gonna share this but not as a finger to Samsung but as a finger to all manufactiurers in this space.  As soon as you get that you're playing with lives! Myabe you'll pay a little more attention to the details.
