This is an excellent resource, it not only gives clear suggestions on how to replenish after the workout, it also provides the reasons why these suggestions are so important.

Similar research also highlights that consuming protein at this time (immediately after exercise) can significantly improve the effectiveness of muscle fibre repair.

 

 

Despite the significance of carbohydrate and protein replenishment, there are so much more vital nutritional strategies that need attending to during the post workout phase.  There is no time to delay, always be prepared to recover as soon as possible from your workouts.

...If you do a quick online image search on meditation, what you’ll find is a popular depiction: people sitting cross-legged, eyes closed, seemingly serene and free of thoughts, some even with beams of light shooting out of their heads. You need only ask someone who meditates regularly to know that this image is a far cry from the reality of meditation. Especially for beginners.

 

On the outside, the body may be calm (and even that can take quite some time to achieve), but on the inside, the mind is often a messy jumble of thoughts and emotions. That’s normal. In fact, while meditation means many things to many people, from my perspective, it is not about achieving a blissed out, “empty” state of mind. Cessation of thinking is possible (or so I hear), but I see this as more of a side effect, if and when it ever occurs. To me, meditation is actually a process—one of investigating your own mind and changing the way you relate to your thoughts."

Research is providing a growing list of reasons that support mindulness and meditation as positive influence to our health and well-being. Attention to the present, greater calm in your daily activity, and positive emotion in your relations are a just a few that come to mind without even reading this article. 

I believe the greatest benefit is connectedness to self, others and our environment. This opens us up to creativity in our work, meaningful relations with those around us, and listening to our body and mind.

A University of Utah study found that mindfulness training can not only help us better control our emotions and moods, but it can also help us sleep better at night. “People who reported higher levels of mindfulness described better control over their emotions and behaviors during the day. In addition, higher mindfulness was associated with lower activation at bedtime, which could have benefits for sleep quality and future ability to manage stress," study researcher Holly Rau said in a statement.
