How To Kill Learner Curiosity In 12 Easy Steps.

Killing a learner’s natural curiosity doesn’t happen overnight. It can take as long as 12 years, and in some rare cases even that isn’t long enough.

Learning environments focused on standards, assessment, and compliance allow for the implementation of research-based strategies in pursuit of streams of data to prove that learning is happening. Curiosity is nice, but it’s a monumental challenge to measure.

Google Docs is one of the great apps I have explored during my learning experience. I remember that when I was at school, most of my teachers suggested us to start using it since it is very easy to use and manage. However, I did not have a computer and I did not like the idea of doing homeworks by the computer. To me, homeworks were better at hand, but through the years, I started becoming aware about the advantages of using this app.
In my school, there was an attempt to develop and enhance cooperative work since most of the parents were arguing that they did not want their children to do homeworks in others friends` houses, for them, it was better to start using the computer as a way to perform tasks with no moving from their home in their free time.
I really love this app because it facilitates the development of tasks , optimizes time and enhances the cooperation among partners .
It is significant to recognize that this great app is now taking place in different settings due to the features it provides. It is a powerful tool in academic scenarios because it promotes autonomy, cooperative work and responsibility.
Some years ago, it just provided the feature of sharing documents and editing some aspects of the text, but now that technology has settled into many contexts, google docs provide more features to correct, align and adjust the document.

Without Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness Doesn’t Work

Without Emotional Intelligence, Mindfulness Doesn’t Work | hokusai | Scoop.it

Mindfulness has become the corporate fad du jour, a practice widely touted as a fast-track to better leadership. But we suspect that not all the benefits laid at its feet actually belong there. Our research and analysis has revealed a complicated relationship between mindfulness and executive performance—one that is important for leaders to understand as they seek to develop in their careers.

Mindfulness is a method of shifting your attention inward to observe your thoughts, feelings, and actions without interpretation or judgment. A mindfulness practice often begins simply by focusing on your breath, noticing when your mind wanders, and then bringing it back to your breath. As you strengthen your ability to concentrate, you can then shift to simply noting your inner experience without getting lost in it at any point in your day. The benefits attributed to this kind of practice range from stronger relationships with others to higher levels of leadership performance.

The good and the bad of the latest corporate trend.

How could we have forgotten that Mindfulness does not work without Emotional Intelligence, according to this Harvard article! We bandy the word Mindfulness as if it is a magic word which will help boost flagging employee energy levels without realising that we did not consider Emotional Intelligence as an important factor.

CCM Consultancy's curator insight, September 14, 1:31 AM

"Mindfulness practice helped an executive become more aware of his own high levels of anxiety. He realized that he had harshly high standards for himself at work, and held everyone else to these same rigid, perfectionistic expectations. By becoming aware of these tendencies, he also saw that while his workaholic ethic had gotten him his position, as a leadership strategy it no longer worked for him."

What is Big Data? A super simple explanation for everyone

What is Big Data? A super simple explanation for everyone | hokusai | Scoop.it
The term “Big Data” may have been around for some time now, but there is still quite a lot of confusion about what it actually means. In truth, the concept is continually evolving and being reconsidered, as it remains the driving force behind many ongoing waves of digital transformation, including artificial intelligence, data science and the Internet of Things. But what exactly is Big Data and how is it changing our world?

How to Support Employees’ Learning Goals While Getting Day-to-Day Stuff Done

How to Support Employees’ Learning Goals While Getting Day-to-Day Stuff Done | hokusai | Scoop.it

Many of the most successful people had to fight tooth and nail for opportunities to learn new skills and advance up the corporate ladder. That’s often because what they wanted to learn and achieve wasn’t in sync with what their bosses wanted for them. You’re not a data scientist. You’re not cut out for engineering. Sales isn’t what you do. Lines like this are still used all too frequently when employees tell their managers that they want to move in a new direction.

But this is only half the story. Managers are under tremendous pressure to generate results. You have annual quotas, quarterly goals, and increasing competition. Who has time to let employees go learn skills that may not be relevant for years, or may not serve your unit at all?

I hear these challenges all the time as I work with managers at all levels, particularly in large corporations. I’ve also faced them myself with the companies I founded and scaled. It’s a tough balancing act. But I’ve learned key lessons to help managers turn lofty goals — such as making learning and development a central pillar of the workday — into real actions that mitigate damage to, and even help strengthen, the bottom line. Here’s how.

I come across this all the time...leaders hold back a person from a 3.5 day learning program because their team is off to a slow start when doing the opposite would help change the results  .. I ask .How will your unit’s monthly, quarterly goals change as a result? Also todays associate if they are not allowed to stretch their wings and learn they leave..or do nor perform at their best.

25 Predictions for Content Marketing in 2022

25 Predictions for Content Marketing in 2022 | hokusai | Scoop.it

With a professional twist, we asked the experts presenting at Content Marketing World what they see in the next five years as the biggest changes in content marketing. This isn’t a list of predicted tech advances or outlandish guesses – it’s practical and proactive. You could take one or all 25 and begin working on them today (if you’re not already) – to plan strategically for short- and long-term success.

We’ve segregated the answers based on the five emerging themes – personalization, formats, implementation, voice-activation, and data.

As you’ll see, the impact of artificial intelligence is a theme that runs through all the categories. Ironically, Michael Brenner points out, it is technology that will help us better connect with people. “We are in a quick march to deep content personalization, add machine learning and AI to help us predict what to create, for whom, where, and how often,” says the CEO of Marketing Insider Group....
