Brent Madaris's insight:

It is so painfully obvious what is occurring here, that to deny it is the height of apathetic insanity! The false narrative that "God" and "Allah" are the same is now coming full circle.

The English word "God" (i.e. Christian God) is now being blasphemously put in place of a false God in an attempt to diminish HIS NAME!

The god of Mohammed is not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is not the God of the Holy Bible!

Muzammil Siddiqi, chairman of both the Fiqh Council of North America, which dispenses Islamic rulings, and the North American Islamic Trust, which owns most of the mosques in the U.S.: “As Muslims, we should participate in the system to safeguard our interests and try to bring gradual change, (but) we must not forget that Allah’s rules have to be established in all lands, and all our efforts should lead to that direction.”

 • Omar Ahmad, co-founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the top Muslim lobby group in Washington: “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Quran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”

 • CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper: “I wouldn’t want to create the impression that I wouldn’t like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future.”

 • Imam Siraj Wahhaj, director of the Muslim Alliance in North America: “In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing. And the only thing that will remain will be Islam.”

 • Imam Zaid Shakir, co-founder of Zaytuna College in Berkeley, Calif.: “If we put a nationwide infrastructure in place and marshaled our resources, we’d take over this country in a very short time. . . . What a great victory it will be for Islam to have this country in the fold and ranks of the Muslims.”…

Christian & Muslim Refuse to do Their Jobs ... With VERY Different... | Hodgepodge | Scoop.it
“I don’t think that I should have to choose between practicing my religion properly or earning a living. I shouldn’t have to choose between one or the other because they’re both important.” #chareestanley #christian #kimdavis
Brent Madaris's insight:

The atheists and secularists have struggled to smear, malign, and remove the historical Christian foundation of our nation.

As they have gained some ground in this area, and achieved somewhat of their purpose in extirpating Christianity from the public arena, something (perhaps unexpected) is happening.

As nature abhors a vacuum, so does the the civil body politic.

Our country / government will be run by someone with beliefs.....or a  lack thereof.  If Christians and their influence are removed from the public square, who will take their place? This is something that we should ponder long and hard on.....because if Christians are removed and / or silenced, then someone else will take their place.

Who do you think that someone will be?

There are people, right now, waiting in the wings, to dismantle "Christian America" and rebuild her in their image.

You see, many people see this conflict in America as a "battle of rights." And the question is, whose rights are going to take precedence? This battle should never have become a "battle of rights."

When America acknowledged, and admitted, and owned her "Christian base and character" a lot of problems were solved before they ever got started. We knew who we were and were proud of it. We stood by our convictions, beliefs, and standards.....and everyone knew it!

It is only when we have lost our way concerning our roots and character, that we find ourselves wandering around in the dark. It seems that America doesn't know who she is now. We are  stuck in so many political, moral, and economic quagmires (that we cannot seem to extricate ourselves from) that detrimental (even diabolical) voices / powers / and influences are gaining ascendancy in our country.

Non-Religious Are Now the Biggest Voting Bloc in America

Non-Religious Are Now the Biggest Voting Bloc in America | Hodgepodge | Scoop.it
People who self-identify as non-religious are now the largest bloc of registered voters in America for the first time in a presidential election year, according to data from the Pew Research Center.

Since 2008, the group who identify as having "no religion" has gone from 14 to 21 percent, putting it just past Catholics and white evangelicals, which both at 20 percent.

Of the non-religious, about 54 percent are Democrats or lean Democratic, compared to only 23 percent who lean Republican.

Though the non-religious are a greater share of registered voters, it doesn't necessarily mean that will be represented in votes. In the 2012 election, the non-religious bloc made up 18 percent, but only 12 percent of them actually voted according to exit polls.

Not surprisingly, this increase of non-religious voters correlates to a decrease in the importance people see of religion in American political life. In 2008, 75 percent of people said that churches and places of worship were important to solving social problems. That number is now 58 percent. In 2008, 72 percent of voters said it was important for a president to have strong religious beliefs. Today, that number is 62 percent.
Brent Madaris's insight:
This is a deceptive article title in some ways, and leaves one with the wrong impression..

When one breaks down the Protestant and Catholic vote into smaller / individual units (like white evangelical protestants, black evangelical protestants, white catholics, etc., it is very easy to "break it down" to the point of minimizing the true picture!

What the study actually reveals is the "religious" minded voters still dominate the American political landscape. When one adds up all the "religious" minded voters they total 69%. The Non religious make up 21%.

This is not to say that the "non-religious" trend in America is not disturbing. As regular, everyday people, continue to see the church as irrelevant to the fabric of American life, we will indeed one day be outnumbered.

We must pray (and work) to make sure that our churches are impacting society in ways that are biblically meaningful.

Aren’t all mass shooters mentally ill? : Family Practice News | Hodgepodge | Scoop.it
In the wake of the Orlando massacre, Dr. Liza H. Gold delineates the differences between mental illness and fanaticism.
Brent Madaris's insight:
"Mass shootings are the most sensational, gut wrenching, and widely publicized form of firearm violence. Nevertheless, statistically speaking, mass shooting homicides are the rarest form of firearm death. These incidents account for less than 1% of firearm mortality each year. About 33,000 people a year are killed by firearms. Firearm suicide accounts for about 65% of these deaths; the rest are overwhelmingly the result of interpersonal violence, not violence committed by a stranger with a gun."

Judge orders Kentucky clerk to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses for gay couples

Judge orders Kentucky clerk to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses for gay couples | Hodgepodge | Scoop.it
A federal judge has ordered a defiant Kentucky clerk to jail after she refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples.
Brent Madaris's insight:

Carly Fiorina had something to say about this case recently -

It was, basically (paraphrased)....shut up and give out the marriage licenses.....or get out of the clerking business. She declared that as long as the government is writing your check, you had better do what they say. In other words, you must toe the official government position or get out of government.....

See article here:

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/09/01/carly-fiorinas-advice-for-kentucky-clerk-who-refuses-to-issue-same-sex-marriage-licenses/

The biggest problem with this is that our government is a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people," and if our government is denying participation to a certain group of people (Christians) because their beliefs conflict with the beliefs of government,  then the inevitable result is persecution.....hence jail time for the clerk.

In essence, what is happening here is that people of true, genuine,  and historical biblical faith are being marginalized and isolated. This is occurring both in the public as well as the private arena.

There is a dichotomy which has developed and is continuing to develop between Bible believing Christians and their government. This is a very dangerous dilemma to be in.

The problem with this approach is that in America, Christians are not pushovers. We have a record in this nation for standing up to injustice,  especially when boundaries of morality are being breached in the process. We are longsuffering, patient and we turn the other cheek; but when pushing becomes shoving, and shoving becomes hitting....eventually we rise up. We battle differently though than most disenfranchised peoples.....

Our greatest resources are prayer, soulwinning, love, worship, preaching, singing, teaching.

Make no mistake though.....WE WILL STAND!

Remember this, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
