Argentina played against England for the bronze medal at the 2014 Rabobank Men´s Hockey World Cup. Both teams showed similarities during the first half, but it was during the second 35 minutes that Matias Paredes gave Argentina the victory in only 2 minutes with 2 goals.

Carla Sabater's insight:
Neatherland got its 7th World Cup after defeating Australia in the final. The result was 2-0 over th Hockeyross under a full Kyocera Stadium with 15000 spectators. Neatherland´s performance was impeccable. They made it to the final undefeated and with only 1 goal against. If the world cup was not enough, the European team also received honors for best goal, best tournament player, and player with more goals. On the other hand, Australia received the award for best goal keeper.

WOMEN Pool B: Argentina grab three points, but are yet to hit top gear

WOMEN Pool B: Argentina grab three points, but are yet to hit top gear | Hockey World Cup 2014 | Scoop.it
Carla Sabater's insight:

Argentina begun the Hockey World Cup with a win but not as expected. The Leonas confrontedSouth Africa, one of the few accessible opponents in the zone, whom showed a strong and resistant defense and a pressure position in the midfield. These made the Leonas struggle the first 25 minutes to score their first goal.

Argentinafinished on top 4-1 with scores from Silvina D´Lia (2), Noel Barrionuevo and Delfina Merino.

Argentina vs USA - Women 14 June 2014 | Hockey World Cup 2014 | Scoop.it
Carla Sabater's insight:

The combat for the bronze medal was between Argentina and the United States. At the 8th minute Luciana Aymar, captain of the Leonas, scored the opening goal. But this joy did not last too long because the American team tied the match 2 minutes later.

Twelve minutes after, at minute 22, “Lucha” scored the second and final goal of the match which gave Argentina the bronze medal.

Great! Check the spelling of "bronce", "Argetina" and the verb tense of the first "score".

Bronze medal for the Leonas. The Argentine women´s team went out to get the bronce after a devastating fall against Neatherland at semifinals. Even with an injury, Luciana Aymar scored 2 goals to give Argentina the victory and switch tears for smiles. The final result was 2-1 for Argentina against the American team who had 3 previous victories over the Leonas.

MEN Pool B: Orange style sinks Argentina

MEN Pool B: Orange style sinks Argentina | Hockey World Cup 2014 | Scoop.it
Carla Sabater's insight:

Leones defeted

Argentina´s debut was against the local favorite and in front of 15,000 spectators all wearing orange. Both teams showed greatness and put on a fantastic match, but the Dutches showed superiority in ball possession and offense attacks that Argentina could not contain. Surprisingly, the first half finished 1-1, but during the second 35 minutes Neatherland grew stronger than Argentina and could change the scoreboard to a 3-1 victory at their home.
