Never heard of it - must be worth sharing :)

Robin Good's insight:Introducing content curation to someone who doesn't know anything about it is not always an easy task. There are so many different articles, opinions, definitions and recommendations about content curation that it is quite difficult for someone just getting familiar with the topic, to easily find out where to start and what to trust. To help out anyone needing to support the explanation of content curation to others, here are five comprehensive resource collections I have put together over the course of the last year. 1) Content Curation - Definitions a collection of the best and most useful definitions of what content curation is http://bundlr.com/b/content-curation-definition 2) Content Curation - What is it? Video Intros 30+ short video clips that introduce the need, practice and purpose of content curation http://huzzaz.com/collection/content-curation-what-is-it 3) Content Curation Visualized 110+ infographics, visuals, illustrations and diagrams explaining what content curation is www.pinterest.com/robingood/content-curation-visualized/ 4) Content Curation Tools Directory - Tools Directory 100+ of the best content curation tools organized in a directory for immediate access http://contentcuration.zeef.com/ 5) Content Curation Tools Supermap - Tools Collection 600+ content curation, discovery, filtering and publishing tools organized by categories for doing content curation http://bit.ly/ContentCurationToolsSupermap All free to use and share.

How Twitter killed the official movie website

How Twitter killed the official movie website | Hitchhiker | Scoop.it
Ali Gray: Online promotion of films used to be so simple: a few gifs and a grainy clip and you were set. Today, hashtags and social media rule. But what have we lost in the process?
Minna Kilpeläinen's insight:

Official web site isn´t enough to promote films.

"If your movie doesn't have a well-liked Facebook page, a dedicated Twitter following and a Tumblr account with at least a dozen animated gifs of your characters twerking, you might as well be promoting, like, a book or something."

Many Ways to Tell a Story: How Transmedia Is Transforming Education In and Out of Classrooms

Cheryl Frose's curator insight, June 12, 3:03 PM

Transmedia, a broad descriptive word that literally translated means “across media” and encompasses many strategies that transverse industries, is generally regarded as the use of multiple media platforms to tell a story or story experience. Though the word “transmedia” is thought to have entertainment franchise origins, its adaptation for education purposes is both valuable and becoming more and more common. While teachers like Sansing are using coding and programming in their language arts instruction, others are taking advantage of increasingly sophisticated apps and interactive media for classroom use.

David Collet's curator insight, June 12, 6:28 PM

I guess this another favorite topic for me. Imagine using transmedia to teach maths and include cross over language components. After all maths has a language of its own.

Dr. Pamela Rutledge's curator insight, June 18, 9:15 AM

Transmedia approaches encourage (or even force) people to actively acknowledge and design for a fluid and multi-dimensional, rather than linear, media environment.  For the human brain, stories are not constrained by what's on the page. Transmedia begins to replicate how we think and encourages producers to innovate in each platform to create multiple touchpoints that facilitate our natural ability to imagine, project, expand and experience.

Story Strategy For Generating Lots Of Content

Karen Dietz's curator insight, June 11, 4:06 PM

This post by Emily G. Buchler gives us a terrific way to think about our business stories that will generate an endless stream of stories that are cohesive to your brand. How? By telling stories within stories.

Yes -- what a great point! She then does a fabulous job explaining what she means by this statement, and gives examples so we 'get it'.

Put this article into the category of 'strategic storytelling'. Yes, we need to craft our business stories. But if we don't think about them strategically, we can end up with messages at cross purposes with themselves as we produce content across different channels.

So go read this article because I think it will really help you generate ideas for more stories you can tell -- but in a way that is consistent with your brand.

Poetically Beautiful Combinations Pair Nature with Sound Waves

Poetically Beautiful Combinations Pair Nature with Sound Waves | Hitchhiker | Scoop.it
While sitting at the riverside and watching its opposing coast, Anna Marinenko noticed that a line of reeds reflected in the water looked aesthetically similar to what she sees in music. The Ukrainian-based designer then made the visual connection between sound waves and nature; this discovery lead her to crafting the beautiful series entitled Nature Sound Form Wave.
Marineko’s works match the two different senses. Trees, skylines, mountains, and more are paired with varying musical waveforms, and the otherwise unrelated elements lay side-by-side to compose a single image. The poetic series features tall strands of grass that sway and play on the highs and lows in sound, while another combination matches a plane’s path almost perfectly to its audio counterpoint. Nature Sound Form Wave seems to highlight the unusual connections we can make when we take time to sit quietly and reflect.
