The story of a young orphan girl living in the poorer side of London in 1808. After stealing an food from a local grocer she is sentenced to transportation to Australia as a convict. Penguin website has a PDF on Teaching Notes - Mainly English aligned but could definitely integrate with other KLA's (drama, history, geography etc)
