SUNLAND PARK, NM – I attended the Solidarity Prayer Service held September 7 here at the border fence that separates Mexico from the U.S. at end of Anapra.

This article talkes about how we should take down the fences along the border and let the hispanic people in mexico come to america freely. They suggested that they take down the fences and build bridges.  The article also talked about how there was a march at the border and both people came to the border, both americans and mexicans. It was heartbreaking when they saw the kids who hoped one day they could come to america.

Diego Luna is making a movie that takes a stand for hispanic immigrants about crossing the border. This article talkes about how the US can guard the border all they want but when it comes down to survival the hispanic immigrants will find every way to get across to the border.

I read this article, too. I would like to see this movie; it sounds very interesting. I don't think we consider how bad things must be for immigrants at home to risk their lives to get across the border. It is a sad state of affairs.

Jose Munoz talks about having it to where illegal immigrants can stay in the US but have to meet certain requirements to live in the US. He believes that the illegal immigrants should have a right to have a chance to be a legal citizen. He recently had his dad get a DUI and is dealing with the charges, when he is an illegal immigrant. Munoz wants to talk to congress about illegal immigrants having a chance to stay in the US but he isnt getting a straight answer.

After Romney lost the Hispanic vote in the last election, the Republican Party  decided that if they were going to win that vote, they were going to have to change.  This article does a good job in stating that in order to do that they may not be able to change enough.  Hispanics just don't relate to the Republican party.  They don't believe they care about the same things that they do.

73% of catholics believe that when illegal immigrants come to america that they should be able to stay legally but have to meet some requirements. This article also talks about how 30% of catholics in the US are hispanics. Another religion that is second for it is the protestant religion has 7% of hispanics in the religion in the US.

In this article Jerry Kammer talks about how he read a essay in the news paper about immigration. What the essay talked about was i womans journey to the US and how she never thought about considering her self an ethnic group. Krammer found this striking and had always thought of immigrants coming to the United States and acquiring an American identity,that was the beautiful idea that made our country work.
