-I find the fact red and orange dominated photos are pinned more often to be extremely fascinating

-I'm also fascinated that you need to limit the background in your pins

-Call-to-actions in tweets are essential; sometimes you simply need to tell your audience what to do.

-I like the concept of a Facebook post that offer something but don't disclose everything

It's a refreshing look to content marketing strategies. I appreciate the analogy of a newspaper cycle and magazine cycle. You're swimming upstream if you're constantly chasing deadlines.

Anthony Hall's curator insight, February 19, 2013 4:34 PM

With all of the buzz going on about Social Media, I am finding that people are shying away from SEO and Search Engine Marketing.  However, the truth is that it is still very viable and should not be discarded from your marketing bag of tricks.

As a matter of fact, SEO and Social Media blend very nicely together as one feeds into the other.

Now, you don't have to be a super SEO guru to get the benefits from it.  Learning how to identify high traffic keywords in your niche that you can optimize your content with is easier than you might think.

Then, by following some simple guidelines for how to structure and optimize your content, you will find that the bulk of the work is practically en-grained in the process of creating the content in the first place; once you get the hang of it.

Then, simply by sharing your content across your social networks, you can build a web of related information which will, by the nature of the internet, boost your website rankings which will cause a website to gain even more traffic.

There are plenty of places online you can learn the simple side of SEO for free.  Be sure you make some time to either learn it yourself or invest some money in having someone handle it for you.

These are great Content Marketing considerations. I really gravitate towards #19 as recycling/repurposing content can really be your best friend in the content creation process. Number #4 speaks to that as well.

And of course, #3, building trust and providing trasnparency are paramount objectives in this new social landscape. You'll never convert anyone into buyers until they trust your brand, simple as that.

The tips provided to help enable advocacy are great. Certainly, you should emphasize unique product/service features in your messaging, as well crafting messages and campaigns around triggers in your audience (which may not be what you think they are).

For one of my clients, a dumpster rental company, I'm crafting content around emotions of a clutter-free home the customer will have after renting a dumpster or the joy and relief customers have after finishing a home renovation project (which, afterwards, they may need a dumpster to help remove all the debris and junk).
